Excellent
Came into town for the Steelers game. Staff was wonderful and friendly. Room was comfortable, nice decor and very quiet. Room floors required card access on the elevators giving added security.

downtown location excellent; near restaurants; theatre etc; easy self park $6/in and out; only problem was with key system -- didn't work late at night so seemed worse that it was.

Nice Pittsburgh Hotel
Great downtown location close to 6th Street and Market Square. Close to many resturants and bars. Right across the street from a CVS pharmacy and Pennsylvania liquor store. Went to a Pitt football game and was able to walk to the stadium. David Lawrence Conference Center about 10 blocks away. Hotel is right on the bus line to Oakland and other parts of the city.

The Hotel is beautiful & the staff was very friendly, however when we ordered room service it never came and when I tried to reach them to report it no one answered at the front desk! The next morning we were very hungry and went for breakfast in the dinning room. The waitress took are order but never turned it in! After waiting an 1 1/2 hours we were served, the manager did pick up our bill but this I feel is unexceptable!

Holiday Weekend Getaway
This hotel was awesome. We arrived super late, around 1 o'clock in the morning, and the guy who checked us in was still upbeat and friendly and extremely helpful. We wanted to go out to eat at 3 in the morning and he advised us what would still be open at that hour and even printed us off directions. When we couldn't figure out how to work the parking ticket machine he came over and helped us with that too. Then there was the room! It had a spacious bathroom with a completely see through shower and large tub. An excellent view of the city and one of rivers awaited us outside our 19th story window. The mini bar was well stocked and sleeping in the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Again when we checked out the concierge printed us off directions to the nearest movie theater and told us the showtimes for what we wanted to see. Anytime I'm back in Pittsburgh I'll be at the Fairmont!

Short drive from hotel
If you're not from Pittsburgh bring a reliable GPS. Ours died on us and even though we had printed directions the streetnames were not always visible at every intersection and we ended up on the highway instead of the street we really wanted multiple times.
