St Patrick's Day - Hilton
Expected hotel to be alot nicer for the price we paid. Room was average. Pull out bed looked like the sheets had not been changed. Drinking glass was dirty. Complimentary coffee maker had someone elses old coffee grounds-looked to be several days old. Wallpaper peeling of wall in room. Valet parking at the hotel was an additional $26 charge. Continental Breakfast was an additinal $11 charge.

Hilton Pittsburgh, PA
If they actually managed to deliver on the conveniences they offered, it would have been a great experience. As it was, it wasn't terrible, but a little disappointing. When we checked in we were told that they were painting the building and there would be a filmy coating on our window which made it impossible to see the view. We knew the place was under construction though, so it wasn't a total shock. The room itself was well decorated, with nice dark wood furniture and a sliding screen door for the bathroom. The whole building has a very retro 70s feel to the decor and the architecture, which you could love or hate. When we were looking for a cab the front desk was helpful and told us about the free hotel van service. Unfortunately, the van was nowhere to be found, and we stood outside waiting for over 20 minutes before we finally gave up and caught a cab. They also offered a breakfast in bed service that you could order the night before, which we thought would be nice. Too bad we ordered it for 9:45 and it didn't come until 11am. After we called the front desk they gave it to us free of charge at least, which was nice.

The Rivers Casino is just over the river near Heinz Stadium. If the shuttle is available, it will take you there free of charge. The casino also offers a shuttle on the top of every hour.

we loved our room.Perfect view of city!
our view looked out a huge window at the 3 rivers point of Pitts. We could see the football statium, new casino, science museum, mount washington and all the roads below winding in and out. We mostly loved the 3 rivers meeting right there. We even saw a boat out or two and it's February! The king bed was really comfy and sheets the best. The bath was a perfect size and shower had the BEST strong spray!

Take a taxi unless it's warm enough to walk. The hardest part is to choose what restaurant to eat! We ate at Station Square's Grand Concourse. It was soo good. They sat us right by the river too!

Good for business but that's it
We went to a Steelers game- the location was great in the Strip District, but the lack of microwave and fridge put a damper on our stay

Family Wedding
Our experience was wonderful we were there for my step-sons wedding my husbands shirt needed to be pressed badly didn't know were to go. So I called front desk they said bring it down we will take care of it for you. Our troubles were over got to the wedding on time and it was beautifull. Then went to the Steeler vs Raider game and it was so good to know that we didn't have to fight the traffic because we could just walk there it was a perfect weekend. And best of all no matter what we needed wether it be directions of a frig or microwave the staff got it for us right away. This is the second time we have been to Pittsburgh and each time we stayed at the Hilton and asked for the same room 2034 And next time we are there we will stay at the Hilton and request room 2034.

Bring your hard hat...
Because of the renovation project that is underway, there is no parking at the hotel. We had to park about 4 blocks away. The room, although nicely furnished, was so small it seemed like a stateroom on a cruise. We would have had a nice view except the window was covered in a thick film on the outside. Finally, the shower had a leak under the door that created a huge puddle covering the bathroom floor. The hotel is well located at the west end of the city, especially if you are going to a Steelers or Pirates game. But I wouldn't go back.

Great location and good price
The hotel room was beautiful however it was small. The valet was very slow with returning our car. The location was unbeatable. We were able to walk to Heinz Statum and other areas downtown.
