Midnight arrival prior to storm was handled very well....desk staff were wonderful during the whole weekend. Breakfast offerings were plentiful with a nice variety!! Everyone and everything was indicative of being in Happy Valley!!

Great assortment of shopping sites, i.e., clothing, food, sporting goods, within a 2-mile drive. Plus the hotel is right off the interstate (Exit 71)....

Loved this hotel!
Last minute trip for business. One of the most beautiful lobbys I've ever seen in a Holiday Inn Express. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Will definitely stay again! Olive Garden and Outback steps away.

Good place to stay but....
Room not cleaned after previous patron. Used soap, shampoos along with new ones left behind. Bed remade with previous bed sheets. New room given would not open with keys remade. Staff had to bring another set..all this at 1 am.

Chilly Willy - because of the water
Holiday Inn Express State College
It was a very cold weekend and the hot water pipes in the hotel froze. The only water we had was bitter cold so we had no hot water to take a shower the next morning. The staff was very nice about it and adjusted our bill by giving us 50% off the rate, but at the same time it was very inconvenient when you're 3 hours from home and can't get cleaned up.

If you're looking for a quick place to eat there is a Wegman's grocery store that has an awesome marketplace/cafe. Obviously it's nothing fancy but has a burrito bar, sushi, subs, pizza, Chinese buffet, etc. Nicest eatery inside a grocery store that I've been to.

Penn st Game Hotel
Williamsburg square, closest possible location to Beaver Stadium...still can't walk to it, but 5 minute shuttle ride from hotel...restaurants in parking lot, a Wegman's 5 minutes down the road.

Nice place to stay. Little pricy. I would have loved a pool or hot tub. This was a business trip so it was fine.

Clean, friendly, comfortable hotel
I thought the staff were friendly, helpful, and outgoing. My room was clean and seemed a little larger than a standard with two double beds and a couch in it with plenty of room to walk around. Although I never got a chance to check out the pool area or the workout room, it was nice to know that they were there. The shower in the bathroom was a regular shower and not the kind that is usually found in hotel bathrooms which was a nice surprise. I would stay at the hotel again and recommend it to friends and family.

The best part was the location of two restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. You barely had to walk across a parking lot for Outbacks and just across the parking lot of Olive Garden.
