simple & nice
I was here for one night. Staff were exceptionally friendly. The room was basic, clean & nice; a little musty smelling, but nothing that opening the windows didn't fix. Vanity area was small, but sufficient. Much appreciated the beer-to-go cooler in the lobby! The courtyard / bar area was cozy and relaxing nestled in the trees. It's a convenient location to the university and downtown; the price was affordable and appropriate for the quality of the hotel (it's a little older of a property).

Perfect Weekend Getaway
Beautiful hotel in State College, the rooms were comfy and the room temperature was exceptionally cozy, restaurant food was incredible. The staff and customer service were both welcoming and very kind. The location was perfect! The room was a comfortable size, beds were comfortable. Only negatives were that it was off a main street so a little noisy with traffic....also, our particular room's shower water fluctuated from very hot to very cold when taking a shower on the second day we were there. Everything else was PERFECT. If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel for a weekend, I recommend The Autoport Hotel!

Great find
I was nervous about the stay in a 2 star hotel , but it was inexpensive and near the college. I was PLEASANTLY surprised. They were helpful , friendly and cooperative. Dining was EXCELLENT on the outside deck and in the Blue Dog FOR BREAKFAST. It was 2 of THE most important things to me, which is QUIET and CLEAN. Not for the snobby upper crust, but for the traveler who wants a clean, comfortable room, friendly service and good food at a fair price. I would certainly stay there again! We loved it!

We enjoyed our stay very much!
They did not have a queen that we reserved, but they had just added a new computer system, so we understood. They offered us a choice of two other rooms and allowed us to go and check them out before picking one. They have great food, outdoor dining, and a wonderful staff. The Blue Dog breakfast wsa excellent , and the outside dining was winderful. The room was clean, and everything worked fine. They are apparently updating and rennovating, and I am sure it will be even more wonderful in the future!

Short drive from hotel
This is a clean and friendly place to stay, not too far from the college and other attrations, yet far enough away for traffic and noise not to be an issue.

Unhappy traveler
Spider Haven
Only 2 rooms available in State College for date of arrival so they doubled the price. Highly rated on line costing me $150. Rooms now go for $85. The rooms were simple twin beds and nothing special. Put in 2nd room after complaining about large spider in 1st room and dirty carpets. Outside appearance of building is very run down, tattered, and moldy. The inside hallway had stained carpets and moldy smell. The client safety was not evident as outside door locks didn't work and the parketing lots were unobserved and far from help , if needed. Inside the room, the door to connecting room was unlocked, broken door stop, peeling wallpaper, no hair dryer, broken wall fixture, dirty chairs and furniture. I travel all over the state and all-in-all this was the absolute poorest room/hotel stay in 15 to 20 years.

A Find for the Money
Autoport Hotel was a great find for the cost. The room was clean, with new carpeting. The highlight was outside the dinning area/bar was a huge area with seating, lighting and a deck that had two fireplaces which was so cozy for conversation. I will definitely return for graduation at Penn State.
