Good price and close enough to the city
Shuttle service is great! Nice staff and happy to help out. Room was in good condition and free internet is always appreciate (and should be expected at hotels). The hotel is across from a park and for those who aren't lazy, you can walk on a path all the way to downtown without being on a city street.

Stay here instead of downtown - smoke free, free internet, and close to downtown. Their shuttle service is great and runs till 10pm and will take you/pick you up anywhere in the area.

Good value for the price
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Loved there was a shuttle to/from the Amtrak station. Location is a bit far from the good restaurants/bars, but there are a few good choices within walking distance.

Short stay
I checked in after midnight and checked out around 10 a.m the next morning. I did not have the opportunity to use any of the hotel's amenities other than the room and parking facility. I don't feel it would be fair to comment on amenities. The place is well kept, clean. Only one problem: one room (301) the telephone did not work.

Visiting friends
Clean, comfortable room but "city view" really means view of I-195. I live in NYC, so I'm not bothered much by the noise, but I could imagine others might have difficulty sleeping. The location is convenient for the Brown University campus area, but is slightly off the beaten track and down a rather deserted road. Overall it was a good stay and I would stay again if I need to visit the Brown area.

Needs some help
Make sure you request a room away from the highway side..quite noisy if you don't. The built-in wall a/c bled cold outside air through the top off the unit...needed to drape with a bath towel to seal off the draft. No Sunday papers were available in the lobby...for free or for purchase and the desk staff seemed cavalier about it. On-site parking was convenient but the hotel needs a reality check to remain competitive with the likes of the local Hampton Inn.

Weekend Stay near Brown
Clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. The king size bed is huge. The view was dismal because we faced the highway, but had we asked for a room on the other side we would have had a view of the water. Call ahead and ask for a water view room.

Hotel was neat and clean. Walls were a little thin, we could hear the people's conversation in the next room very clearly. Room did not get cleaned while we were out between 10 and 4. I am not sure why.

Disappointed Becky
Overrated Hotel
After spending two nights sleeping on a pull out sofa, we couldn't wait to check into our 3 star hotel. Unfortunately the excitement was extremely short lived. We checked in around midnight after spending a day with friends and on our way to our room we noticed that there was no air conditioning in the elevator or hallways. After a day of rain the humidity in the building was close to 100% and it was at least 80 degrees. They put us in a room right next to the ice machine where we could hear the water valve turn on and off all night. The room itself seemed ok except the air conditioner was not functioning properly. We had the thermostat set to 65 and the a/c would only kick on for 10 minutes at a time. As soon as it would kick off all the heat and humidity from the hall way would come into the room. The bed was a sleep number bed which was not advertised [...]. My husband has had hip replacement surgery and could barely move after trying to sleep on that bed for just a few hours. I usually don't wake up in pain but I did that night. It was worse than sleeping on the pull out couch. I had to have our room changed at 4 in the morning because it was too hot and we could not sleep comfortably in the bed. Fortunately I was able to [...] get our money refunded and we checked out the next day instead of spending 3 nights as we originally intended. I thought it ended there. When I got home I checked my bank statement and found that [...] the hotel had charged my card without my permission. [...] They continued to tell me that the erroneous "refund" would not hit my card for 7 - 10 days although the charge was instant. I asked why I was not contacted when they realized they had made an error and were going to have to charge my card and their response was that was not their policy. Horrible accomodations and horrible service. This is certainly far from a 3 star hotel.
