Nestled in the historic district between the famous Market and Waterfront Park, this English Coaching Inn is the perfect address in Charleston. Handcrafted in the traditional decor of 17th Century English buildings known to Charleston's early inhabitants, Anchorage Inn is truly a special piece of history. Offering many fine complimentary services such as wine and cheese each evening nightly sherry, evening turndown service with chocolates, and a large continental breakfast each morning. The inn also offers complimentary high speed internet access in each guest room and all public areas.
The Anchorage Inn was created inside the original walled city where the active shipping industry developed as it transported the rice indigo, and cotton for which Charleston was do well known. The port was the true raison deter behind the development of the city of Charleston, and it still remains one of the most active ports on the Eastern Seaboard.
There are 17 guest rooms and 2 suites at the inn. Each room has individual character and is furnished with period reproductions built specifically for the hotel. Each bed is artfully draped with tapestry hangings.
The ideal location in the heart of Charleston's historic district extends guests of Anchorage Inn an easy place from which to explore.
