The Charleston Marriott is a top notch lodging for business travel. The staff is friendly and always ready to meet special requests or deal with problems. The only drawback is that it is not in the wonderful downtown of Charleston. I have stayed at many of the talked about luxury hotels in the city. The Marriott rooms and staff are the equal of any of them.

Great place to stay!
The hotel is in a good location to get around. You need a car but it is only minutes away from most things. The staff is very friendly and room service is excellent. We will be staying there again.

Lackluster experience
Not sure if it was the reservation mix-up, getting locked out of my room by the computer, the fabulous view of the police station parking lot, or the bathroom lights too dim to shave by (energy saving CFL bulbs) but I wouldn't recommend paying to stay at this Marriott. Otherwise it wasn't bad.

Nice but isolated
The hotel rooms are done to a very high standard. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The room service meal was delivered well within the promised 45 minutes. The food was fresh and well prepared and presented. The hotel is squeezed between the city and the waterfront in an industrial area. It is not convenient to the many delights of Charleston.

Nice room, freindly staff. Was a little taken aback by a fee for internet service - almost $10.00 per day.

Charleston Marriott good and bad
I was in town to see a few concerts and I'll highlight the good and bad of my experience. The Good- very pleasant staff and management( that's not always a norm these days). Good restaurant and bar in the hotel. The Bad- the room had a musty "wet carpet" feel and smell, Since there were no windows that opened(another downer since it was 65 degrees all day). I had a friend staying in a different room and the smell was similar.

Super Picky
Great hotel - great location
Hotel is great, front staff are wonderful. Room is clean and has everything we needed. Location is very close to downtown. very short drive or you can take the hotel suttle. ($6/person for many trip duing the day). I asked one staff member for ice for the cooler when we left and he got it for me. every one is so nice..
