Close to hospital for early morning testing

Staff helped and switched our room from a non smoking room but on s smoking floor. That was great. See full review

Whether on business or pleasure, our beautiful 7-story hotel is the perfect location for you. Close to Historic Charleston and within 1 mile of MUSC, VA Hospital, and Citadel. All rooms include microwaves, refrigerators, coffee, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, Free high-speed Internet and Free weekday newspaper. Free deluxe continental breakfast, outdoor pool, fitness center, free parking and meeting room on site.

Nothing Special

The only positive thing about this hotel is the location. We were given a smoking room, which I did not request, and it was awful. Not only did it stink of smoke but also mothballs. The hotel "did not" have availability for a non-smoking room and would not refund us our money so we were forced to stay. The smell was so bad we were forced to buy 2 bottles of Febreeze, a humidifier, and some scented oils.

MUSC Visit

Parking was a problem but overall the hotel is a good value for the price and conveninece to MUSC and access to higways to sightsee in Charlseston was excellent

Terrific staff, great value

This hotel has the best value in downtown Charleston considering its proximity to the center of downtown (bars and restaurants). I was able to stay close to the nightlife without busting my wallet (and no complaints about the rooms). Also, very helpful staff at front desk.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

Check out Theatre 99 on Meeting St for one of their improv comedy shows. (not for children)

could be nicer

Hotel was very dated and had construction going on on the floor we were staying, however it was not mentioned to us when we checked in. The hallway was blocked with rolls of carpet and we couldn't get the cart by, so we had to leave it and make several trips. Staff was nice and location was good, but on busy highway.

It was hard to give a true assessment

It was hard to give a true assessment of the hotel, as it was being up-graded. The staff were pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. We would use the hotel again.
