Romantic and luxurious

Beautiful, small hotel, and staff who want to please. Check-in champagne, wine with cheese and crackers at cocktail hour, and freshly baked cookies with milk at night put the frosting on the cake. Our suite had a fireplace and balcony. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will return.

More than just a getaway!

The city of Charleston had much to see and do in fthe six nights that we were there. We enjoyed ourselves at a pace that left time for relaxation and dining at a leisurely pace. Of course six days of beautiful sunshine and interesting sights added to the enjoyment. Our hotel The French Quarter Inn, is located in the heart of everything and and walking to most places was an easy stroll. The staff was polite and friendly and willing to serve. Breakfast every morning was presented beautifully in the lobby or delivered to your room. There were always cold drinks and snacks available and wine and cheese with fruit served beautifully was set out at happy hour and milk and cookies before bed. The experience was as being a guest in someones home rather than in a hotel. Charleston is a beautiful clean city with friendly folks and surrounded by history. Hope to return again soon.

Great Place in great location

We had never visited Charleston before and found the French Quarter Inn in a visitors guide. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the city. The room was perfect in size and cleanliness. We needed a computer which was included in this "business" oriented room, making our trip user friendly. They served an ample, delicious continental breakfast such that we did not need to eat an official breakfast. Would highly recommend this property and Charleston to all.

Great host in a charming city.

The service left nothing to be desired from the wonderful champagne and truffles upon our arrival and throughout our stay. Of course we enjoyed the wine and cheese as well as the cookies and milk but the staff was particularly knowledgeable about the city and eager to help us plan our day. The hotel is wonderfully quaint in a wonderfully quaint part of town.

The Gullah tour was exceptional. The 30 minutes drive to the Magnolia Plantation was worth it.

French Quarter Inn Review

Stayed at the FQI two nights for a wedding in Charleston. Staff was incredible, location terrific, and amenities world class. For the price my only complaint would be the bathrooms. They fall more in line with something at a Holiday Inn and not a 5 stay hotel. The soaps and shampoos were great quality but a shower with a curtain and no doubles sinks was disappointing for a hotel of this quality. Other then that a great stay and would definitely return.

Wonderful hotel, Wonderful service

Perfect location. Close to everyting. Spotless. Employees were wonderful. Serve complimentary breakfast; nice wine, cheese and grapes from 5- 6:30 PM and milk and cookies around 8PM. Parking is extra but every thing in the historic area is so close a car is not needed.

A real find 1/2 blocks e. across State Street is a tiny simple cafe for breakfast and lunch ,The Dixie Supply Bakery & Cafe run by a young couple; graduates of the Charleston Culinary School. They have been there just 3 years. Food prepared better than the well known expensive restaurants. Less butter % salt.

Great Mini Vacation

The staff at the hotel were excellent in every way.The hotel being a smaller hotel was very cozy and friendly especially when we had the wine and cheese cocktail hour. I booked this hotel for the service and amenities and I was completely satisfied. They truly deserve their 5 star rating.

We ate at Hanks sea food which was supposed to be one of the best for sea food. A big disappointment. The sea food was so salty. Tommy Condons which didn't get great reviews was very friendly and had great service. The food was quite good.

Excellent stay!

This hotel is all about LOCATION!!! We walked to restaurants, shopping, the College of Charleston and the waterfront. We loved being able to park our car for the weekend and not have to move it! The hotel was nice. Beautiful common areas, champagne at checkin, wine and cheese each afternoon, cookies and milk at bedtime and breakfast in the morning. There were coffee and tea stations on each floor so we could grab a quick cup of tea before bed and a coffee in the morning without having to go downstairs. We would absolutely stay here again!!!

Had a FANTASTIC dinner at High Cotton - a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Get the filet mignon! Also - Tommy Condon's was a favorite of ours when we lived in Charleston as college students. Tommy Condon's is right across the street from the hotel. Go in and have a pint while listening to some Irish tunes!
