Its clean but overpriced
Not what we purchased...
The room we paid for and reserved was not what we received. Although the room was less, the price did not change. Not worth the dollars spent. Some of the staff need to work at a better hotel to get a clue about good service. You can do better elsewhere.

Vendue Inn a star performer
There are not enough stars for the service and atmosphere of this unique inn. The efforts to accommodate each and every need could not be duplicated even in a hotel that cost twice as much. Not to mention, the absolutely dreamy comfortable bed.

Great location and value.
My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our trip to Charleston and stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing along with the wine and appetizers in the afternoon. The location is terrific close to the Battery and an amazing number of good restaurants. We will be back.

Short walk from hotel
Make your reservations as soon as you arrive in the city. The restaurants get booked early. Stay away form Hank's. I would recommend Snob, Magnolia, Blossom, the Library and 82 Queen.

Vendue Inn Charleston
We visited during low season and checked in on Thursday. The room was not ready until 3, as advertised but most places, under those circumstances have rooms available earlier. The next day we were out of the room from 10 AM until 2:30 PM and the room was not cleaned when we returned. The complimentary breakfast was mediocre (batter ran out of my pancakes), at best. The bed was very comfortable and the location is quite good but overall, not worth the money.

Great hotel, but a little over priced
We enjoyed our time while staying at the Vendue Inn. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was very friendly. We overlooked the construction and that we had to walk up to the third floor (from the 2nd) and take the elevator down to the 1st floor and just the opposite comming back. The Sherry was a nice surprise also. My wife dosen't usually drink but I think she found it to her liking.

Great hotel/location at a great value
Our experience at the Vendue Inn was fantastic! The room, staff, and charm were unbeatable at a great price. You can't beat the location either . . . view of Charleston's Waterfront park, easy walking distance to all of downtown Charleston's… best venues/dining, and the Roof Top bar above you! We will definitely return as soon as possible

Old world style
Conveniently located for access to everything in downtown Charleston. Staff were friendly and helpful. I did send two emails prior to arrival; one was querying whether there was a hairdryer in the room, there is. The second requested soy milk at breakfast, no-one ever responded and this request was not accommodated. Initially we were given a room directly opposite the elevator. Our request for a room change was immediately granted. The room we stayed in was much nicer in terms of decor and size. However, therewere visible damp patches around the a/c unit, and water actually dripped onto the bathroom matfor most of our stay. The room and corridor also smelt mustydue to the damp. I'm sure another room change would have been accommodated but we'd already unpacked and were heading out to dinner when we realized there was a problem. This really should have been noticed by the staff prior to check in. The bathroom could really do with an upgrade. It was clean but tired, cracked grout etc. The complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres daily were a nice touch. Great views from the rooftop bar.

Don't miss an amazing culinary experience at Slightly North Of Broad (SNOB). Food was incredible, waiters very professional, great ambience. Magnolias, on the other hand, was a bit disappointing.
