Palmetto Shores Oceanfront Hotel

We did a lot of shopping and talking. We also were alble to take advantage of some special offers that the hotel offered to shows. The location was great and we plan a return trip in August.

The hotel was older but they try to keep it up. It was a good value for the money and we had a nice time.

this is our third time here, we enjoy the hotel and love the ocean view economy rooms. the staff is also very helpful and the other guests are also nice.

I woke up and turn the lights on in the middle of the night and realized the bed, pillows and myself were covered in dozens and dozens of crawling bed bugs. (the pictures are too icky to post!) Yikes. I got many bites. The manager was nice and helped me pack my belongings until I could decontaminate it (it took a long time to double and triple bag everything, and took several hours with the help of 3 hotel staff!), and got reimbursed. But the trauma, time, risk of health and risk of having my car or my home contaminated with bed bugs makes me strongly advise you to reconsider before you stay at this hotel until there is a guarantee the problem has been seriously resolved by professional exterminators (still not the case 2 weeks after my stay; I guess many poor travelers have brought little critters back in their luggage since).

Staff at check in were pleasant. Our room was on the first floor right in front of the guest laundry and the outside door...noisy until midnight then it picked up again at 7:00 am. The shower had no curtain, so I called office and they brought one right over. The next day we had no towels after they cleaned the room, we called and they said none were clean they were washing them and would bring them right over as soon as they were done. Staff was apologetic and we had towels in 30 minutes.. Sunday we moved to another room in the main building and it was much better. Rooms are older but they have tried to maintain them. New paint and new bedspreads, rooms were clean. Nice views even from the ground floor. Overall for the off season and for the money it was a good choice.

Hotel did not have the specific room that I requested. Manager was rude and acted as if he did me a huge favor by giving me a room I did not want. A headboard was on the floor in the room and no one came to repair it. I had trouble using the breakfast vouchers and the same manager was extremely rude. He never bothered to resolve the issue. I would never stay at this hotel again due to the manager's rudeness.

The trip was great and we enjoyed our stay. The staff was very good and helpful.

My husband and I needed a place to stay in Myrtle Beach for the weekend for a softball tournament. I found this place and from the pictures thought I was getting a great deal because it looked great....the only thing that was great was the view. The room was clean and did have the mini kitchen which was nice but the door to the outside patio wouldn't shut and the lock didn't work. Our room wasn't cleaned after we asked 3 times!! The elevator sounded like it was going to break every time we got on. Everything just looked and felt dirty. Maybe because it was the off season but I was not impressed. Luckily we weren't in the room that much, but overall I guess we got what we paid for because it was really cheap.

We decided at the last minute to plan a getaway. Stayed here was AFFORDABLE, CONVENIENT AND RELAXING. We will definitely return!
