Stay somewhere else
The first night we stayed a maintence man, we assume used his key without knocking and entered our room, he said sorry and left. The next night the so called manager used his key,after the first night we had the extra lock engaged, and tried to come in our room, since that failed he went back to the office and called us, it was 11:00 pm, and demanded we come to the office immediately and pay for the night although he was aware we were to stay there till the end of the week. The next morning we packed up and went to the Econolodge, next door, it was a clean nice room, about 10.00 less per night and had a free breakfast. My recommendation, go to Econolodge forget about Motel 6

Go to Econolodge next door
The place was clean, the cleaning crew was very nice. The first night we were there the maintence man, we think, used his own key and walked in our room, no knocking no nothing, he said sorry and left, the next night (we luckily used the extra lock) the so called manager used his key, again no knock no nothing, at 11:00 pm, and tried to come into our room. Since he couldn't get in he went back to the office called and insisted we pay immediately even though he knew we were to stay three more days. We were there for a funeral and this just was inexcusable. We had no appology, nothing. So we packed up the next morning and went to the Econolodge next door. No one tried to enter our room, the place was very clean,they offered a free breakfast and they were cheaper. I would never stay at motel 6 there again and if this is how all their places are run I won't stay at any motel 6

If you are looking for a cheap room with a nice staff but no extras this hotel is good. The room was extremely clean and was comfortable for a good price. If you need a cheap one night to drop place, this is your spot!

not so good
The room smelled bad, the curtain couldn't quit cover window and it was wired up. Sleeping on the bed was like sleeping on the ground. There were no extra blankets, so i was cold. no kleenex-use toilet paper. No shampoo or conditioner. The towels were like rags. oh man! this room sucked. I would have been better off sleeping in my Jeep! Can't believe i paid $50.00 for this room!

Perfect overnight pitstop before Sturgis
This place has great friendly staff, nice clean rooms, nice showers, nice AC units, very quiet. They even cater to self service washing of your motorcycle. That topped the stay. I stayed on the the way out and back from Sturgis from Rochester, MN. I'd do it again.

Cabela's outfitters has a great display of wild life mounts and great selection for everyone who loves the outdoors.

BUDGET-CONSCIOUS GMA WITH A SMILE!

I appreciate Motel 6 being the lowest price I can find. Price is VERY IMPORTANT to me as I'm a very hard working single person (definitely not RICH!). I always know what to expect at a Motel 6. I'm a no-frills person, so Motel 6 and I are a match made in heaven!

The Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD is really pretty cool and FREE! I was really surprised at how attractive the city of Mitchell is. They've put a LOT of money into some incredible parks and bike paths. Other than the heat in the summer, I could easily see myself living there!

Best for just an overnight stay
This hotel is close to I-90 which is very convenient. If you are just looking for a place to sleep - this place is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Nothing extra, but you can save money and have a good night's sleep.
