Sheraton Sioux Falls & Convention Center

We chose this hotel because we had stayed before and rather enjoyed the over-all experience. This time, a couple years later it (the hotel) seems to have devolved a bit from it's former state. The interior of the bldg. is nice but feels dated. The entry doors are a big hassle for anyone with luggage, and the exterior is clean but requires maintenance if they expect to be perceived as a luxury hotel. The price was good, the room was clean, the room-service staff was polite, and it was quiet. There was an incident where my teen daughter and her friend were policed rudely by a member of the night watch, and the desk area in general was somewhat less personable than expected... (hard to explain, but real). Main complaint is that they are less than forthcoming in their "nickel and dimeing" tactics to increase revenue, such as charging $2.99 per hour for wifi access and $2.99 for a cheap bottle of water. In my opinion, they would do better to treat every paying customer as though they were important, and invest in more "curb appeal" for improved first impressions. This is where revenue comes from- customer loyalty.

This hotel had all the amenities needed for a one-night stay. My only real issue was that our hotel room was on the hallway facing the open space above the lobby/bar/restaurant and so it was pretty loud too early in the morning. Overall, a good hotel for the price!

Clean and straightforward rooms and facilities. Slightly overpriced, but convenient for conferences. Bar and restaurant very pricy. Some problems with noise from the courtyard with rooms overlooking it. Convention center staff and food was fantastic-- hotel staff left something to be desired.

The beds were very comfortable. A/C was quiet. Rooms very clean. Lobby was very interesting with the waterfalls and Japanese paper balls hanging from the 80' ceiling. Pool was clean. Food was good. Would definitely stay there again.

Smooth check-in. Nice room on club level with loveseat and chair. Complimentary bottled water waiting for me. Large, flat-screen tv. Comfy bed. Spacious bathroom. And the best feature? Starbucks coffee in my room!

Overall the Sheraton has friendly, courteous staff. The room is clean and well presented. Like many hotels the bed has a sumptuous comforter. However, unless the temperature of the room is below 50 degrees, there is no need for a sumptuous comforter. The breakfast (eggs Benedict and buffet) were below par.

We had a late check-in which was not a problem at all. The food and drinks were delicious, but a little on the pricey side. I was attempted to try out the hot tub (along with 3 other guests), but it was not working. The security guard came along and fixed it shortly for us. The elevator made beeping noises all night long, even though we were at the end of the hallway away from it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Very clean and very friendly service!!

We did not spend much time at the hotel as we we were here for a wedding and really just needed a place to sleep. The room was fine. I thought the selection of food at the Sunday Brunch was not very good for the price paid. Also many of the items were not being restocked in a timely manner so you had to ask for certain items (i.e. Butter, orange juice, etc.)

Did not like the Wifi Internet charges and the Business Office charges. Wifi was $3 for an hour or $10 for 24 hours. (It's free at lower priced hotels.) Also, neither lamps on each side of the bed worked, although this would have been easy to fix if I had called maintenance.
