Expectations exceded
My expectations were exceeded in every way. From the palatial grand entrance, to the rooms, the fixtures, the furnishings, even the shower head ( a Waterpic dinner plate size rain shower) The Kirkly is an older property. Unlike the Days Inn which takes an older property a squeezes the last ounce of revenue from it for as long as they can. Doing the minimum upgrading and repair necessary. The owner of the Kirkly keeps the place sparkling. It reminded me of the way the Mt Washington Hotel in New Hampshire is taken care of. If you are a person who spends hundreds of dollars a night on a hotel room you might consider this slumming. But, as you are checking out you will feel slightly foolish that you can spend so much more and not get more. I rated the Kirkly 5 stars in the category of modestly priced hotels for it truly does not get any better.

Spring break in Knoxville
The hot options at breakfast were below average. The wireless internet never worked very well the whole time we were there. Very slow or didn't work at all.

Wonderful
My husband and I stayed here as a stop over before a flight out of Knoxville airport to go on our honeymoon. We had a late check-in, but the staff was wonderful and got us all settled and up to our room in no time. Breakfast was amazing. Nice variety of both hot and cold options. Price was unbeatable. Very convenient on/off the freeway and just a very short drive to the airport. Would totally recommend to anyone.

A new favorite!
This was my first stay at a Country Inn and Suites, but not my last; For the remainder of the trip (4 more nights), I did not stop for the night untill I found one; They were consistantly clean and well-run, with friendly and helpful staff and lots of "extra touches".

Very Comfortable, homey stay!
Our trip to Knoxville was to go to a family wedding in town. We decided to stay in this hotel as the price was cheaper than staying right next door at the Hampton and other hotels. This hotel is very homie, and very comfortable. The value for what you receive cannot be beat! We loved our room and our very comfortable beds. Room was very spacious compared to other hotels we have stayed at before. We would definitely use this hotel again when we go back to Knoxville!

Unbeatable stay for the price
Our stay here was pleasant and well worth it for the cost (approx $50-60/night). Even though we did not rank some of the categories high, our expectations were not high because it was not a high priced hotel. For the price that we paid, it was definitely more than we had hoped for. The complimentary breakfast was way more than expected and even included waffles, with a combination of eggs, bacon, sausage, or gravy and biscuits depending on the day. The bed was surprisingly comfortable! It would have been nice to have had a microwave and/or fridge in the room, but we did not have one since it was a regular room and not a suite. For the three nights we stayed there were never any cookies in the lobby. We did not use the pool, but it appeared to be well kept. It was a little on the small side if there were a good number of people using it, but we never saw being used much. The gym consisted of two treadmills and an exercise bike. It too appeared to be rarely used. My husband used one of the treadmills once and it was fine. The hotel was right off the interstate and easy to find and access. It was also minutes away from a new shopping mall. We did not have much interaction with the staff, but when we did they seemed to be friendly.

Good value for the money
Hearty breakfast buffet included with waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit & continental usuals. Pool was a bit small but nice shape with vigorous whirlpool & small separate kiddie pool. Traffic noise on side facing interstate, but very quiet across the hallway. Bed & pillows comfy. Enjoyed fireplace in lobby. Convenient to interstate & all of West Knoxville.

Decent hotel
The hotel was in a great location, and thanks to Orbitz I got a really good deal for a two queen suite. We have stayed in Knoxville area a few times now for house hunting and this is what I liked about Country Inn and Suites: The room was big enough for my mother, my daughter and I to rest in for 4 days without crowding each other. The indoor pool wasn't huge, but decent and my daughter had fun. The room was clean. Liked their idea of a lending library for books to read while staying at hotel. Things I didn't love: The front desk staff wasn't rude, but, with exception of one, they weren't friendly. The sleeper sofa was broken (support underneath) and upholstered chair had a very sharp edge that scratched mom's leg to the point of drawing blood. When front desk was told she didn't have much of a reaction. Breakfast was OK. Cookies that were supposed to be in the lobby were NEVER there. When I asked the front desk (the one friendly one), she said they had been out of them for weeks. We added an extra night (a Monday night and the hotel was pretty empty) and our rate jumped up 24.- extra dollars. I would recommend Baymont Inn and Suites-East on Brakebill (the one further from West Knoxville is the one we stayed at)above this one for good breakfast, REALLY friendly staff and better -nonreduced- rates. Just the location wasn't as good for our house hunting in Farragut.
