If yr ever in Amarillo - this is great place to stay

The hotel is impressive to look at as we drove up to it and very convenient to the highway. The staff was very helpful and friendly throughout our one night stay. They had a great happy hour and the breakfast was extremely well done. The only drawback was the use of hand towels rather that full size towels for the pool.

This hotel was great. The guy who checked us in could have been friendlier but the room was nice. It was clean and the bathroom was clean. The beds were really comfy.Loved the big tv. We went down to the pool and hot tub, it was really relaxing.The free breakfast was good.

The room was clean and nice. I liked the location as it was close to the highway. The TV and internet were great as well. Breakfast in the morning was very crowded, and there wasn't a place for me to sit.

We were in Amarillo, TX to meet my son's dad for the holidays. We visited the Big Texan to eat and other site see'n we did, it was enjoyable. We stayed at the Motel 6 and the clerk there was very nice and complimentary. it was nice to be where there was respect and kindness there in the state of Texas. the motel 6 was ok for a nite or two but it was not fantastic. we appreciated it very much for the hospitality.

Check-in went smoothly. The wireless internet didn't work at all ("unidentified network" in Windows Vista). There was a baby cockroach in the room. The bed was comfortable. The shower worked well. This was a cheap, comfortable place to sleep for a few hours in a long roadtrip.

This motel was adequate. It was fairly clean, but one light did not work, the coffee maker was crusty and the bathroom fixtures were old and corroded. Having said that, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet (altho the neighborhood was rundown and made me nervous). The complementary breakfast made for a good start to our next day on the road.

When we booked we asked for a non-smoking room, but ended up with a smoking room. The hotel was full, so they could not move us.

The hotel was very nice like most hilton hotels are. The problems with the hotel included a small pool area and no complimentary breakfast. Other than that the stay was very enjoyable and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

We were in Amarillo for a wedding at Lake Tanglewood and it was a very nice and convenient hotel that was close to where we needed to be. The room was nice and clean w/ a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a little cramped w/ open holes behind the water handle in the shower b/c it wasn't put in right. All together it was a nice, clean hotel and a pleasant place to stay.

We often stay at the Comfort Inn when spending the weekend in Amarillo. It's a nice clean hotel. The swimming pool is always clean, though highly chlorinated - make sure you/your kids have goggles as both my kids complained of burning eyes. Kids love sleeping on the pull-out couch. The breakfast is OK, about what I expect for this price range. Overall, we're happy and we keep coming back.

Okay for a short stay

I was passing through Amarillo on business and this place fits the bill for a short stay. It is an older place and the room I stayed in showed it. From the shower in the bathroom, to the tube television staring at the bed, and the layers of paint on the walls, at the price point I paid, the place would be a complete winner with a little attention to detail and investment into the facility.
The room I stayed in was big though and had a fairly comfy set up with a table, three chairs, two nightstands, electronic safe, hangers, dresser, TV, and bed of course. However, lights in the room were pretty dim, so if you have trouble reading in dim light, than be prepared to use your own reading lamp or something. Breakfast was good and the staff seemed pleasant enough.
I've seen worse places during all my years on the road and I've seen places that just dominate this one.
I think if you are just passing through Amarillo, this place is an okay choice, but it isn't the kind of place I'd take my kids or my wife to stay on a dream vacation or anything of that sort, but on my own just doing business travel it works out fine.

We had a wonderful stay at a Hampton Inn on our first night on the road home. So we booked another Hampton Inn. Unfortunately, this one was shabby...although the rooms had been somewhat updated. It just felt run down getting to our room. There was no elevator and no refrigerator in the room. It wasn't awful..just not up to our expectations for the chain. On our departure we noticed nicer, newer hotels very near this one.

I enjoyed the pool & hot tub area, & the staff was very accommidating. An in-room refrigerator would have been nice since there is a drought in Texas & only certain ice machines were in service. I am continually satisfied with these hotels for 40+ years.

Hotel was in dis-repair. My parents' room door would not lock- had to use the chain lock. Sparse and dated furniture in rooms. Mirror back was flaking in bathroom. Fine for a one night stop on the way thru town but not worth $99/night and wouldn't want to stay there more than 1 night. Stayed at another Holiday Day Inn in Pueblo CO that was great- didn't even compare! Oh, and the breakfast was cold and yucky.
On the other hand, staff were very courteous and location was great, right off the interstate.

Our room was nice and clean... though I think we had a newer remodeled room. Wouldn't say the hotel staff is the brightest since they never could find my Or***z reservation (until a day after we left and just paid up front for room)... Average. Not what I'd consider disgusting or awesome.

Not all Best Western's are the Best

The location was along I-40, with almost every other motel chain. I chose this one because I had, in the past, good results with Best Western's. I found myself wondering how this particular motel made the cut. It badly needs redecorating, needs to be made lighter and more attractive. The bed was about as uncomfortable as it could get. It felt as though it had been purchased at a rock quarry. Linen was dingy, and the lighting, while I admire them for the energy efficient light bulbs, did not illuminate the room enough for me to see what I was doing. Also, the telephone didn't work and had to be replaced while I was in there. I was disappointed in "Best Western" and would think twice about seeking them out.

the location was easy to find, the room was clean and the beds comfortable but would have preferred a regular coffee pot and a remote that worked, the ceiling fan was noisy and the curtains didn't close all of the way which let alot of light into the room during the night as well as the privacy issue of open curtains.

Very nice hotel

This was our second time staying at this hotel in Amarillo and we were there for four nights on this trip. I picked this hotel again because we were so pleased with it on our trip last year.
The staff are second to none, the hotel is clean and well kept and the rooms are great.
We had the king suite both times and the rooms are larger than most hotels and the beds are very comfortable.
The location is perfect, good places to eat all around.
We will stay here every time we visit Amarillo from now on.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. Pretty clean, comfortable bed, friendly staff, WiFi worked well. Only weird thing is one side of the room is all mirror.

We don't travel a lot so my review might be a little off for frequent travellers. The room was adequate for the price. I got a really nice surprise when I checked out. The room was actually cheaper than the quoted price. That is unheard of these days. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant stay. Thanks.

There is nothing fancy about this hotel: a clean room, a comfortable bed, and adequate amenities make it a good choice, though there are plenty of other options along I-40.

We checked into the hotel and got the key to our romm. When we entered the room my wife did her usual inspection, general cleanliness, bathroom, towels, soap etc. She looked at the bed spread and said this has blood and the appearance of other bodily fluids on it. Sure enough, when I looked it did. I called the desk and told them about it.
The desk clerk said bring it down and exchange it for another one. I asked if someone could bring us one but he said he was the only one on duty. I took it down and showed him the spots. He said he would take a picture of it and show it to the manager. I got the replacement and we spent the night. I spoke with the manager the next morning. The desk clerk, who was now gone, had not told him about it.
Needless to say, we will not stay at a Comfort Inn ever again.

Chose this hotel do to location. It's immediatly after you exit and has a gas station near by. On check in the staff was courteous and quick. Room was clean. And the breakfast in the morning wasn't as good as home cooking but it was about as close as you could get because the cook was constantly checking on the food. Overall good experience

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and smelled fresh. But the breakfast was not the greatest--too many carbs, no fruit or yogurt or scrambled eggs.

Upon arrival @ 12ish am there was a loud party going on in the meeting room. Then upon getting the room key and walking out to the room and entering...It was still loud outside. The noise didnt calm down until 2am. I don't know if it was just a bad night that we had come, but whatever the case it was noisy.In the morning it was very pleasant and quiet. They had breakfast available for the customers. Cereal...waffle maker, muffins, orange juice, milk, coffee. Just a run of the mill hotel...nothing spectacular...some may not have felt safe, some may have. I know we were on the fence at night-But I think it was just the loud party.

Good location right off I-40 but then that's true for just about every hotel/motel in Amarillo. Room seemed clean but had that old, musty smell to it. The grounds and buildings were pretty run down and upon close inspection really showed the age and wear. For the price, I expected something newer and/or modernized. They really have no business charging and receiving the nightly rates that they do. On the way back thru town, we stayed at the La Quinta across the highway. The rate was lower, the overall property was significantly nicer and the room was excellent. In the future, I would only stay here if it was the last place in town with a room.

Stayed in the Cattle Barron Suites. Room was smaller than expected and could hear noise in the hall way & the next room. Very clean, the staff was beyond expectations I will be staying again.
