Extended Stay America - Austin - Downtown - 6th St.

I came into town for a wedding from dallas. First when i checked into the hotel i specifically asked for non smoking and a extra bed for my guest. Neither request was fullfiled. The entire hotel smells like week old trash and the floor i stayed on was like a huge ash tray. I can not stand the smell of smoke and this was terrible. We where in the hotel for maybe a total of 3 hours. When we first checked in we where getting ready to music on the laptop. Im guessing the walls are paper thin because somehow the security guard can hear it outside our door so he gives us a warning. So we leave and later that night come back and turn on the tv, I then get a knock at the door and its the security guard and the manager telling me that we need to pack our stuff and get out! So my trip to austin consisted of being kicked out of my hotel for talking and having the tv on too late at night, and sleeping in my car ! I know for a fact we were not being as loud as the kids staying next to us, I have never experienced anything like this.

Smelled like smoke and seemed quite dirty inside. The only positive was the proximity to 6th street. Wouldn't stay there again.

It is a good place, but it will be better if the building had its own grocery store. It was hard for me to find some water at night.

It was so close to the venue that we walked. 6th street was pretty close too. The location worked for us and the check-in/out process was pretty smooth. We didn't use the kitchen area they provided. My only complaint is that the water puddled up in the shower a lot.

The 4th floor is a smoking floor, but you can smell it throughout the entire hotel. the elevators smell like BO and dirty gym shorts. BEDS ARE HARD AS A ROCK. They do not clean the room during your stay. very old rooms. Pay the extra to stay at the Courtyard Marriott on 4th street if you are visiting Austin, TX. Conevnient location to shops and entertainment, but thats it.

I stayed there on business. I was at a nearby conference center or offices for most of my stay. Thus, I needed convenient and comfortable. It met both criteria at a reasonable cost.

It was an okay place to stay..i mean for what we paid. i guess i couldnt really expect more! But the hotel had a funny smell..even the room that was a non smoking room smelled like smoke..but other than that the personnel was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel was in a great location! We were only blocks from the party scene and from the art district. Would definitely stay here again.

We went out to 6th street Friday night for a little birthday celebration. It was nice because the hotel was right on 6th street and we did not have to worry about taking a taxi.
