Decent location, aging building
Pretty decent location on the Lady Bird Trail along the lake made for an easy morning run. A 10-15 minute walk to downtown meant no cabs or rental cars. Just near the hotel in a cute but decaying neighborhood on Rainey Street is El Naranjo, an incredible and creative mexican restaurant of sorts. The hotel itself was incredibly average. The staff was totally proffessional and friendly, but it's hard to compensate for a mediocre, aging building. The bathrooms and carpet didn't give you that "clean" feel. The 24" tube TV seemed a bit 1990's. This hotel was $50 more per night compared to others better appointed in other similarly prominent and sized cities recently visited such as Minneapolis.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Two spots, the mexican mentioned up top or Jo's coffee on second. But honestly, if you love food, there are many good spots.

Unhygenic and dirty ....
terrible hotel..Rooms don't have double paned windows, as a result, there is constant noise from I35.. There needs to be a study on the noise levels, it is definitely not healthy.. The carpets are old, dirty, bathrooms were smelly... Terribly unhygenic, for any price...I can't believe that FDA or some other authority hasn't looked in to this hotel.. And a 3-star rating is clearly false advertising...

Good lake view but hotel needs upgrads
The air heater wasn't working proporley and I moved to another room, but it was same problem, the carpet smells bad in the 5th floor. generally the hotel looks inside old and needs upgrade to match the price. I liked the breakfast and sight view on the lake.

Good value, fair location
Room was clean. Service very friendly and helpful. Fronts on I35 but road noise in roomacceptable. In hot weather it is a tough walk to tourist areas andnightlife. Free parkingincovered garage. Lack of convenience a fair trade off for the price.
