Courtyard by Marriott Brownsville

I had a "not-so-good" experience when I booked and arrived at this hotel. Granted it was close to the border and some other restaurants, mall, etc. but the quality that I am used to from other courtyards marriotts this did not come close. The front desk was ok, average, the front desk rep, was a bit "tired" and very "young". She was trying to be professional but her age came out - but that is not worst. I am not going to make this any longer then it needs to be so here is the main points that make me think not to book here again. 1. The room was stuffy and seemed it was not aired or really clean. Maybe it was the small refrigerator that was left unclean and unplugged, which leads me to point number 2. The room was smelly because the fridge was moldy and unplugged 3. Also, they have this complimentary breakfast they offer, which is nothing but rubbery scrambled eggs, cereal, water... which you get yourself, but get this there is a waitress that is supposed to seat you and bring you all your complimentary breakfast but she doesn't, and expects that you leave her tip just because she asked you if you wanted some coffee. I would not stay at this place every again if i can help it. Now I do realize that this hotel and many others are located near the border and maybe my standards which are based on the normal amenities that I have received from the same hotel chain but at locations not near the Mexican border that I use to benchmark this hotel, but come on!! Moldy smelly refrigerators left in your hotel room are NOT acceptable!

Very confortable beds, very good attention at restaurant. Even was a billed stay, by mistake they were close to billed again.

We travel to Brownsville often for business and this is the first time we stayed at Courtyard and we will continue to stay there. I didn't realize that they served dinner and also had a "Happy Hour". Both breakfast and dinner were fine. The bathroom was larger than most and wireless worked perfectly. The location is perfect for going into Matamoros, the mall, many other resturants and back to airport.

I arrived on a Sunday evening expecting to have a meal in the hotel, as I chose this hotel because it had a restaurant and lounge. The restaurant/lounge are only open Monday-Thursday. All was not lost as the very helpful staff drove me to and from a good steakhouse across the highway. Also, had a pretty good breakfast buffet on site the next morning.

the staff was somewhat nice, but confused. the room looked clean until my wife climbed into bed and then started itching everywhere. we noticed she had a rash on her lower back and stomach area. we contacted front desk and they looked lost, and told us they couldn't do anything about it. i asked them for clean sheats and they gave them to us. my wife took a shower and replaced the sheets. no more itching after that. i know there was bed bugs on those sheets. GROSS> oh yeah, there was no parking available so i had to park at another hotel. Last but not least, they told us we did not have free breakfast, [...]

Visited family,beach & shopped.

Good place to sleep, nice clean, nothing much else, nothing special.

My daugthers wedding, family got together and got her ready for a beautiful wedding.....second to none.

My experience was good. I liked that the hotel was vey clean and the rooms were very quiet. Also we had inmediate access to the pool.

All the staff are very very friendly and and attentive to your needs. The rooms are clean and bedding is nice.
