Good Place to sleep after driving

Great customer service! Friendly staff!
We needed an overnight place to rest up before a long trip to Dallas, TX. The staff were very friendly and helpful, just waiting to help out. I've stayed at many hotels in the past few years and often I've felt like the staff in certain hotels could care less if we were pleased. At Holiday Inn they cared and they did whatever needed be done. Professional, prompt and courteous service is not common today, but this visit it was exactly that.

Cheddar's family restaurant is nearby. The hotel had a shuttle service so you don't need to drive. Good food at reasonable prices.

Comfortable, Clean, Great Value
This is an older Holiday Inn...so I was slightly worried about my choice. I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very big and mine had been redone...it was clean..bed was good...towels were so much better than in most hotels..thick and nice. I requested a room away from the expressway and I never heard traffic noise. I had a nice breakfast at the Hotel..friendly service. [...] My advice..stay here... but get a room near the rear of the Hotel.

Children should be seen not heard!!!!
I understand that children will sometimes be staying in the hotels where I stay. That being said, they should be in their rooms and quiet at 11:00PM at night when I am trying to sleep. A patrol of the halls would have been great. It would have made my stay much more enjoyable.

Good location
Stayed in the room only to sleep. Hotel is conveniently right off the interstate. Close to the mall, restaurants, and Mexico. The drive to South Padre wasn't that long either.

Girls night went Bad
Bad Service
We stayed over night on a "girls night out." We thought it would be a nice motel because they had newly decorated rooms. The room was dirty we also asked for a iron and housekeeping never brought the iron. The girls and I have always stayed at Holiday Inn's but this is the worst one in Texas. The only thing good was that we were walking distance from the malls.

Best getaway by far!
I planned on getting in late so I called ahead to make sure my room was reserved since I was visiting on a holiday weekend. The staff was so grateful they upgraded my room! They have two clean, beautiful pools. The cleaning staff is quiet and sweet. I felt very safe even thouh I was traveling alone. I felt like I could have gone to the lobby to interact with people or stay in my room and have a quiet vacation to myself. The hotel is lovely and only a short walk away from a cinema. It's also quite close to South Padre Island without being too pricey.
