The Apache Motel is an Historic Inn located in a quiet peaceful setting close to Mill Creek Parkway and numerous shops galleries adventure companies and museums. We are the closest hotel to the world famous Slick Rock Bike Trail. Our motel is family owned and operated with world class friendliness and service. You can count on the amenities at our motel -large rooms swimming pool queen beds hair dryer shampoos plush towel and bedding free wireless hi-speed internet buisness center non-smoking rooms extensive cable tv including Disney and HBO refrigerators and microwaves in many rooms.- and all this for the price of a budget motel. While you stay come down to the lobby and have a cup of hot chocolate tea or coffee and learn about the history of the Apache and its famous guest from our managers. John Wayne always Stayed here while making Western Movies in the area. In fact he stayed for months at a time in what is now the John Wayne Suite where he and Pilar and the kids spent many summer days and nights. We have preserved the John Wayne Suite in his honor and believe it to be the best suite in Moab. While in the lobby look over the preeminent volume of Western Film History. Where God Put the West and learn why John Ford Henry Fonda Anthony Quinn Dorthoy Malone Yvonne De Carlo and many others made the Apache their home away from home. In the last three years we have spiffed up the motel with new luxurious queen sized beds new and extra lighting new bedspreads which make our rooms we believe as good as any motor homes. Moab is the largest and nearest city to Arches National Park Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. The Colorado River with rafting and river excursions runs by Moabs north end. Moab is according to most experts the best mountain biking area anywhere in the U.S. and the hiking and biking trails must be seen to be believed. Did I mention that we are friendly- Just ask our staff for recommendations for tours and restaurants shops

Old and worn

This motel has been around for some time. It has been remodeled over the years, but not much improvement. Had a nasty smell on arrival but seemed to fade. Breakfast was nonexistent. Would not recommend this motel. Better deals on the main road in town.

Apached Hotel

Hotel manager did not have a king bed as I rquested when I made the reservation with [...]. Manager stated she only is required to give me the next best available. So I paid for something I did not receeive. Motel did not tell you that no more kings were available.

The people working at the Hotel were VERY nice and, friendly, but this Hotel is out dated and dirty. Thank goodness I had my own sleeping bag and pillow because the bedspread and blanket were dirty and stained. I did enjoy the hot shower and not sleeping on the ground after 10 days on the river but would choose another Hotel even if a bit more money next time. Also if you have no car it is a bit of a walk to Main street where the restaurants are.

Not recommended

We stayed here because it had a reasonable internet rate and seemed decent by looking at it online. In reality our upstairs room was old and dirty. The older receptionist lady was not at all friendly. The continental breakfast had good homemade waffles and pastries, but there was no juice and nowhere to sit. I would opt for another place.

Scalped at the Apache Motel, Moab

Upon arrival we were given "Some Bad News". We booked online at [...]for $49 per night. But, there was a "problem" with the online service, the room was really $89 per night. The manager said she had been trying to call but had the wrong number. Town was sold out, so we were scalped....

Moab Adventure

We were there to visit Canyonlands National Park. The motel is a few blocks off the main street in town which we considered a plus. It is an older motel, but it has been well maintained. The room was basic but clean, comfortable and quiet. For the price it was a good value.

Best price

Old but well maintained. They really push the "john Wayne stayed here." I stayed twice, 7 days apart. The 1st night the advertised wi-fi Internet didn't reach my room. The 2nd night it was sporadic and unreliable, so if that's important to you, consider carefully. Others in our large group stayed at various other places and all paid a lot more each night.

Apache Motel - Moab, UT - Awesome!

We had a wonderful stay at the Apache. The history of John Wayne tugged us there! The staff were very nice, and went out of there way to help us...room was a nice size, and very clean. After hiking miles around Arches and Canyonland, we really just needed a place to lay our head. The breakfast area needs to be expanded though, no where to eat. Grabbed a quick cup of coffee and a danish, then had a full BIG breakfast down the road to sustain us for a full day of hiking. Very close to town, but...off the beaten, noisy path which we liked!

We had breakfast at the Moab diner, which was excellent and very quick, and had dinner both nights at the Moab Brewery! Both nights were great, love the Lizard Micro Brew! Great smoked items on the menu too!
