Basics for the Best Price

We booked this hotel since it was the cheapest in the area. The room was huge compared to other motels we've stayed at in St. George. Room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more at such a great price. Nothing fancy -- just the basics -- but who wants to pay for more than that to sleep?!

Low Price; Average

Good price, but definitely a budget motel. My only real complaint is that there were no towels provided in the room.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in!!!

I had read the reviews before we booked this hotel. i honestly thought it wouldn't be that bad. Boy, I was wrong. The fridge had mold in it. The wall near the bathroom was coming apart. I couldn't hardly wait until we left. I wouldn't think that any hotel room would have been that bad. I guess you get what you paid for. We sure learned that lesson. I couldn't believe how my husband reacted, he said I would rather pay a little more than stay at a place like this. we will never stay here again. It made our trip not so good. I can't believe it is rated a 2 star, it should be a -5. The room was not clean.

Worst ever

They did not offer breakfast even it was advertised and the WiFi was not working at all. The whole place is very shady. Old furniture is sitting in the parking lot - looks like a construction site rather than a motel. The carpet is dirty and the staff absolutely unfriendly.

Worst Motel in St. George

Very misleading, especially using the old econo-lodge logo. This is across the street from the real econo-lodge and it is filthy. We checked in at our time to find a room that smelled of cigarettes (among other things) and it was dirty. When we turned on the lights, a fuse blew out and lights stopped working. The blinds were broken and the furniture was disgusting. There was a futon covered in a gross blanket and the bed was deplorable. The bed wasn't made and the sheets look as they haven't been washed for a long time and there was no mattress protector. This was not a place people would rent for a night, but for an hour or two. It was an absolute travel nightmare. Do not book a stay here.

Good for a place to sleep and clean

If you just need a place to sleep that is clean, this is the place for you. It is outdated with some more recent renovations, but new mattresses are needed. It was great in the bathroom and vanity areas have new granite and marble, and the room was large. Some minor repairs are needed like the noisy fan in the bathroom, but overall it was fine, and for the price it is great.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Cafe Rio is just a half block away. It has received over 60 national awards including best fresh mex food in all of the nation, and it is fantastic. Be sure to eat there if you stay at the Economy Lodge.

Good price for what I got

The only upside I see is when I first booked I was suppose to get 1 queen size bed and a couch for $38. Well when I showed up on my crutches I ended up getting a suite. 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom as living room. I like the fact they cared about my well being. I would recommend for service, but it was pretty run down.

Needs a little work

Although you could tell they where in the process of making some upgrades . . . there was still a lot that could be done. You do get what you pay for so I guess I really shouldn't complain to much as there was a bed and a hot shower.

Remodeling? Yes! With any system? NOT

This was our first stop on our road trip and didn't expect much for $35.00. Well the foreigner at the front desk was nice but I couldn't understand a word he said, so bad I did not know when he said my name wrong. We got a room that turned out to be two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Apparently the city said no more closet sized rooms, so they merged them. The door was deadbolted open and I after clearing the room of potential suspects, we entered. The lighting was ok, but the dark paint colors were depressing. The bathroom was beautiful, unless you turned on the extremely loud dirty ceiling fan, or lifted the old toilet seat they did not change. There was a refrigerator, full size! turned off and nasty filty. There was ceramic tile floors! dirty and stained although brand new? The front door never did get painted so the inside of that door was oversprayed. When I went for my breakfast they said "what ruum?" I told him #39 and he sent me to a hotel next door for a breakfast of waffles and fake juice. It really wasn't bad, there was an upholstered, abandoned couch at the pool, yet there were liners in all my trash cans in the room. There was a lovely closet, with no rod! I think they did what the city forced them to do, if they keep going it could be a very nice hotel. But for now, as long as you don't expecgt anything, you will have a good time!
