Exceptional get-away place!

On a cold, rainy fall night we were greeted by a blazing fire and happy, helpful staff. Decorated to the hilt for autumn and Halloween, the dining room and buffets were much more than expected. We ordered a pizza and ate it in he bar with other friendly travelers. A very cozy, fun get-away.

Disappointed at Stowe

The location of this hotel is great if you are skiing because the mountain shuttle bus begins its runs from this hotel. The rooms however need some work. To save on electricity the light bulbs are all very low watts. Consequently the rooms are very dark. The mattresses on the beds are old and very hard. The pillows are flat and should have been thrown out years ago. Do not under any circumstances eat in the dining room. The food at dinner is terrible and it is expensive. There are many restaurants on Mountain Road that are much better in terms of both price and tastiness. We went to Charlie B's and found that excellent. I would never stay at this hotel again. However, we did like Stowe.

I booked this hotel through Orbitz and got a quote, but upon check-in, the receptionist told me that she needed to charge additional tax. It was about $10 more, which is not much, but it gave me a bad feeling.
The room was small and reasonably clean. The view around the hotel is nice.

Great Area, Nice Accommodations

Bottom-floor room in mountain-view building was noisy and left something to be desired, but the very friendly and understanding staff moved me to a jacuzzi/fireplace room, which was FANTASTIC. Hotel has great location along the Stowe recreational trail and lovely view of the mountains. Has both indoor and outdoor pool which I did not make use of, but both looked nice. The adjacent restaurant has excellent pancakes. Wireless internet in lobby/lounge area only, but it works well. Stowe is a wonderful place to visit, and the Grey Fox is a warm, friendly, and very accommodating place to stay.

Absolutly fantastic. The fireplace is just in front of the king bed. And you can enjoy the jaccuzy while looking the fireplace, verry verry romantic. Great we will return for sure.

The motel part needed some TLC but rooms were large and clean. Very small bathrooms, but again clean. The Inn was lovely, very well appointed. And dinner was surperb It is very close to the main street which made walking very convenient.

The actual inn seemed very nice which is where I thought I would be staying. Instead I had a room in the hotel part of the inn that was a very decrepit looking building from the outside. The locks on the door were trick locks and needed explanation on how to be used. Room had no blind over the window right at the bathroom sink only a sheer curtain. At night you would have a bird's eye view from outside since that is where the cars were parked. Could not turn the heat off from the thermostats and room was as hot as could be. Had to open the windows in the middle of the night. Overall it was ok but nothing I would need to come back to. Staff was very friendly as always in VT.

I called to confirm my Orbitz reservation and found out that there was some kind of glitch - that there actually were no rooms available, that there had been a problem with Orbitz. Never fear!, [...] the manager said. We keep a few rooms held because of this ongoing problem. He graciously booked us a room a few days before our departure. Our stay was pleasant, the surroundings clean and quiet, the main lobby-seating area spacious, the jacuzzi hot and the pool clean. We would definitely return.

The Mountain Road Resort is a vibrant, cosmopolitan and stylish hotel surrounded by seven acres of landscaped gardens. The complex is pristine and the accommodation includes commodious bedrooms with comfortable country-style furnishings, air conditioning, modern bathrooms and many gas-powered fireplaces. Just right for a family weekend

We were delighted with our stay. The continental breakfast was great! We especially liked the homemade cinnamon rolls and blueberry muffins. My sons loved the pool. We didn't stay in the hotel much because we were there to see our daughter who is at college in the area. It would be nice in the winter for a ski weekend.

This is a family style, motel/resort. Go in with the right expectations and you'll enjoy it! Rooms are clean, location is great, huge property with lots of stuff to do, lots of options as far as rooms go (there are suites you can rent with wood burning fireplaces), price is right! As long as you're not looking for a high class resort that is bent on 5 star service, this place will provide all that you need at one of the best prices you'll find in Stowe.

We were welcomed by very friendly staff and the grounds were well-kept and spacious although close to busy road.However it quieted down at bedtime and we were comfortable.There is plenty of sitting areas around the grounds and walking trails.Only wish we we here longer than 1 night.

I was extremely impressed with my stay at the Timberholm Bed and Breakfast. The atmosphere was very cozy and the owners were extremely friendly and attentive. The property was clean and the other guests were a nice addition to the stay. The rooms were beautifully decorated and upkept and the breakfast was the most amazing I've ever had. The creations they had were delectable and delicious. I could not recommend a better stay at an affordable price then the Timberholm Bed and Breakfast and I would definetely stay there again.

No complaints. Lovely atmosphere. Great location on the mountain. Bikes offered for riding with good cycling tracks as well as good walking tracks suitable for all ages. Would have liked to have stayed longer, a week would be ideal. The free breakfast was lovely and appetizing. Would definitely come back. A microwave was the only extra thing needed.

The Lodge was ok, but kind of disappointing. The lodge is quite close to the road and the rooms facing the road are loud and not conducive to sleep. More light blocking curtains would improve the situation. The whole place had a bit of a musty smell. The best thing about the place was the staff who were quite friendly and the food was good. Located at the base of Mt. Mansfield- Stowe Inn at The Mountain and Condominiums offer mountainside accommodations- located a leisurely 10 minute scenic drive from historic Stowe Village. Stowe Mountain Resort offers hotel rooms and suites at the Inn- and fully furnished one- two- and three bedroom condominiums. All condominiums have washers and dryers. All rooms- suites and condominiums include daily maid service. Most rooms and condominiums are designated non-smoking. When we checked in on Saturday, they had upgraded us to a one-bedroom Condo (townhouse) because they were so busy. It was great! The location is perfect...right at the base of the MT. Mansfield Toll Road.

The hotel staff was helpful, friendly and most welcoming! They even gave us a ride to the wedding we were attending at the resort! I highly recommend this hotel!

OK who doesn't love the "Sound of Music". A very nice lodge and accomodations. Overall a nice property but for the money you can do better. Still have the runs after spending $150 on dinner for 2. Fire alarm beeped every 1.5 minutes for the entire weekend due to a low battery. When I reported this to the front desk, all they said was that a work order had been placed. For $300/night I expect more.

Stowe Mountain Lodge was a fantastic place to stay. A great place to get away from it all with an excellent staff, and very comfy accommodations. We stayed there last minute on a whim and we could not have been more pleased.

Beautiful hotel with the trimmings of a updated lodge in the Adirondacks. The accommodation being nestled in the mountain close to the hiking trials and ski area surroundings make it the perfect getaway to enjoy the outdoors and have all the fancy trimmings of a beautiful restaurant, spa and pool/hot tub. The food is superb with all the local food to table movement locally. The other great benefit is the the option to have your dog with you at the lodge which makes it all the much more special to bring the entire family.
Highly recommended.

Description
Situated at one of the most photographed locations in Stowe, with a stunning sunrise vista, the main house is a circa 1830s farm house. Off the beaten path, yet less than 1 mile from shops, restaurants and more. Most rooms have their own sitting areas, all have private baths, TV, A C and all are welcoming places to relax after long day of fun, or a company retreat. A seperate building, the Hill house, offers eight luxury suites. These large rooms all have wood burning fireplaces, sitting areas, private baths, private porch with wonderful views and easy access to our outdoor Jacuzzi. Combine all this with an outdoor pool, private cinema and campfires, you have a place where stress ends and living begins. Check-in is at 3 00 PM.
