A good deal. Close to downtown Seattle - an easy 20 minute walk to the market or the Convention Center. And only two blocks away from the Space Needle and the EMP. Since we like to walk when we visit cities, this was ideal. The rooms aren't the best, but about what you'd expect from a discount hotel. The bed was more comfortable than others I've experienced. The staff was courtesy, friendly, and very helpful. The breakfast room was well-stocked and fresh. We'd definitely stay here again.

Quick and pleasant check in. Large room, kingsize bed, free wifi. Large bathroom, powerful shower. However, room next to flyover, constant hum of traffic, not that bad but noticeable. Good location, walkable to Pike Market and Space Needle. Excellent breakfast, wide variety as much as you want. Quick, efficient check out. Not a modern hotel, looking a little worn around the edges, but would recommend at the right price.

Great stay for cruises.

We stayed just for a couple of days while waiting for our cruise to Alaska to begin. The hotel staff was great, the room was clean and comfortable and is located about ten blocks north of downtown Seattle. Also is located 5 blocks west of the Space Needle. All within walking distance. There are also convenient buses and cabs to go anywhere in Seattle. It's a $10 cab ride to the port. About $6 ride to Pikes Market. Perfect stay even if we weren't going on a cruise.

Yes there was something missing a pool. Other then that the stay was very enjoyable. The hotel was very comfortable. My mom and i were there to celibrate my sons graduation from universirty.

Had a small room, but very clean, awesome comfortable bed with deluxe linens. Within walking distance from Pike Place Market, Monorail, Paramount Theater. Ideal location for staying in Seattle. We even walked to Pioneer Square in a wind storm! First floor "Von's" martini bar and restaurant very nice, with excellent food. I would recommend for anyone who wants a downtown Seattle sight-seeing trip.!.

We were there for 5 days to attend a conference at the Washington State Convention Center and the location was perfect. The WSCC was one block away and within a few blocks around we had a wide offer of restaurants, shops, bars, bookstores, etc. Access to public transportation was also really good.
The hotel had great staff and amenities. It was clean, comfortable and we had a good view of downtown Seattle from our window. All in all a great choice.

Watch out for the early morning Bellman who has an unlicensed Lincoln Towncar driver offer rides to patrons. If you have an accident in one of these cars you may not have an recourse. Likewise, I think the bellman is taking kickbacks from the driver and shunning legitimate cab drivers away!
Besides the internet plug not being available in the room and the $10.95 charge for wireless, these were the only flaws.
I may stay there again.

Great...except the pubes and meatballs.

Arrived to a pleasant greeting from the studious valet. Walked into an amazing lobby that triggered "oohs & aahs" from my children. Front desk staff were onpoint, cheerful and quick. Room was decorated and designed in a satisfactory way. Once settled, my family and i sat on the couch to relax for a moment. Almost simultaneously we all locked eyes on a round brown object under the coffee table. After closer inspecrtion, we realized it was meat. It wasn't something we brought in with us...which makes it a GROSS OVERSIGHT by housekeeping. Going along with that, there were several pubes that appearted to be glued to the toiletseat by a sweaty butt imprint. Nasty.

The hotel is very comfortable and the staff was amazing. We arrived before our actual check in time and instead of sending us away, they moved upgraded us to a larger suite.
Parking costs $20 a night but the hotel let us keep the car there until 3:00 pm the next day. There is no need to drive to enjoy Seattle once you get there as the Hotel offers a free shuttle service with 3 stops in the downtown area every hour.
The pool/spa was warm and clean.

The staff was outstanding! I was only there for one night and they always recognized me, asked specific questions related to why i was in own. Aways opened the door for me and were there for me whatever i needed. Will stay there again based on that alone.

This is a good, solid hotel. The staff is all super friendly and the room I had (802) was enormous. I would gladly stay here again; this hotel is a great value.
If I had any quibbles they were that the bathroom is tiny, and the fixtures in it are not as nice as the rest of the hotel. Also, the exercise room has just the bare minimum of stuff, but still enough to do some basic cardio if the weather outside is uncooperative.

Wonderful... Except they "Nickle-and-Dime" You

Gorgeous views of the city, perfect location in the middle of downtown but right off the interstate, walking distance to awesome sites like Pike Place Market, King County Courthouse, and various muesuems and great dining spots. Amazing staff, wonderful in-house restaurant. Couldn't complain about the price ($135 a night)... until I found out that internet is NOT included ($9.99 a night), I had to pay for parking ($32.00 a day), local calls are not free, and the restaurant is a little pricey ($5.25 for a bottle of beer). At first you think you're getting a deal with the Crowne, and then you quickly figure out how they are making their money. I will probably pick another hotel next time to see if I can get a better deal (free internet and local calls, cheaper parking and maybe a taxi service to nearby locations). However, for the indiscriminate spender, the Crowne is a lovely place to stay with a very thoughtful and friendly staff.

It was a great room with a fantastic view. The room was clean and very comfortable. The beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Located in the heart of downtown Seattle is very convenient and saves on having to get a cab. Many shops and resturants are located within easy walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Seattle.

We chose the Olive 8 as the preferred place to stay for our wedding guests. We couldn't have been more pleased. Great location, friendly staff, really nice rooms. It's not the cheapest option, but well worth the price.

Great location, lousy wi-fi

Very convenient location, opposite the Seattle Art Museum and just a short walk (albeit uphill) to the Pike Place Market. Good facilities - hot tub, workout room, free hot or cold breakfast. Room was very large with fireplace, french windows, and refrigerator and wet-bar type sink.
However...the wi-fi connectivity was atrocious - kept kicking us offline and the logging in process was a pain (maybe it was my Mac and it's better with a PC!). Carpet was a little shabby and the cleaners were less than scrupulous - minimal vacuuming and no dusting of the venetian blinds on the windows.
All in all I'd say no worse than your average Hilton/Hampton/Sheraton type hotel but nothing to write home about. Staff were friendly and helpful. They had no in-room safe which I would have expected in this hotel - but we put all our important stuff (ipad/MacAir/passports) in a bag and they locked it in the hotel safe, which was fine but a bit of a nuisance if you are coming in and out and need to use those things when you return. As with many hotels there never seem to be enough electrical outlets in the right locations. I think the internet connectivity would have been fine if I had used a LAN (which they will loan you) but if, like me, you have a computer that has no LAN portal then you are stuck with the lousy wireless connection.

Harbor Steps was a wonderful place to stay, the room with the balconey was great and the view from the room awesome!, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the contennial breakfast, and everything was in walking distance. This vacation was the best ever! The only thing we noticed was a faint stale smell of cigarette smoke, other than that the stay was very pleasant and we would stay there again.

The hotel was within walking distance of downtown Seattle, the piers, Space Needle, etc. Our room was clean and spacious and provided a frig and microwave, which was really nice! It enabled us to have an early breakfast in our room before sightseeing, although the hotel also provides a very nice breakfast from 6:30-9:30 am. Fresh-baked cookies were out every evening. Though our room overlooked a roof, we didn't care since we were there to see the city, not stay in our room. Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel was overall a great experience. The only thing that I would suggest is they make room service available. Aside from that, the beds are cozy and comfortable, linens, rooms, bathroom is super clean, the staff is super friendly. Most places are walking distance, others are just a few taxi minutes away.

My wife and I decided to visit Seattle for my 30th birthday. Without intending to benefit or "name drop" I mentioned to the desk clerk at check in why we were in town. He proceeded to give me a certificate for 2 free drinks in the hotel bar with his compliments.
Our room, while small was tastefully decorated and had a great view of the streets below. After walking to inspect other restaurants around us, we settled on the restuarant in house. Again no mention of my birthday, and yet half the meal was comped... The cherry on the sundae (literally) was arriving upstairs at our room after dinner to a birthday card with my name printed on it and signed by all the employees along with a box of chocolate covered cherries. Simple and maybe hokey, but the minute extra effort made my stay there incredible. I wholeheartedly suggest you stay there yourself. Minutes from pike place and smack dab in the middle of downtown, the Mayflower was about as perfect as perfect can be.

Bring your own pillow!!! That's the only problem I had. The pillows were very big and hurt my neck. Other than that, I loved the location, the front desk was very helpful. They brought a crib up as soon as I asked. Stay away from the breakfast buffet. It was not good and not worth the 20 bucks I paid. I loved the "go green" affect. Also, we ordered pizza from Padrino's Pizza. They delivered it for free and it was the best pizza I have ever ate.

Location in Seattle City Center, close to key tourist attractions, e.g. Space Needle, Pike's Market. Just the location we hoped for. Helpful staff, quiet area, clean room, wi-fi worked. Didn't spend much time in the room - were touring the city. Easy to get to off I-5 and parking at the hotel. There are more expensive hotels in the area, but all we needed was a quiet clean room. Would/will use again.

The view was amazing, the room was great, the staff was pretty helpful.. The only frustration I had was that it wasn't as accessible to the city center as I anticipated. Because there's no way to walk across Aurora Ave, one has to walk around or call a cab.

Almost everything was perfect,but I expected too much about the swimming pool. It was so small, so I coudln't swim there. I wanted to take a relaxation of mussels to swim as an exercize. However, the location was so good and near Zeek's pizza was also so good. It is located near by space needle. We love that part the most.

The hotel was nice, the construction work was noisy. The only problem we had was our daughter left her I-pod and some jewelry in the room when we checked out and the hotel did not recover it, so the maid service had to have taken it and not reported it. I'm sure the hotel could have traced who cleaned the room, but evidently did not take the time to do so.

Would have hoped for better late night restaurant hours. Unfortunately, on a Saturday there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant. She did her best but we did have a long wait.
