Great overnight

very nice hotel and perfectly close to all the downtown shopping, dining, and Pike Place! The room had a nice view of the water and some of the city skyline. Room was also nice and quiet. If the hotel had a pool and hot tub then it would get 5 stars. Only complaint, is that it seemed the thermostat in our room didn't work well. I was freezing at bed time (had to call for an extra blanket) and then the next day right before checking out, it had heated up way too much. Didn't matter though because we were headed out. All in all a nice place to stay!

Nice hotel, great location

My only complaint about the hotel was the outrageous parking rate for guests, ($32. per night) and that the water for the shower didn't get over tepid, even when turned all the way to hot.

Great New Year's Eve getaway

Fabulous location - centrally located right in the middle of downtown Seattle, just steps to great shopping and restaurants. We stayed the week between the Christmas holiday through New Year's and were glad that we booked here. No rental car needed! We walked to Pike's Marketplace, the Seattle Aquarium and waterfront for sightseeing. Macy's and Nordstrom are just down the street, as well as several shops and malls. Even better, the hotel is right next to Westlake Center, which is a stop for the lightrail and monorail. Not a fancy hotel, but perfect location to experience all Seattle has to offer.

Great Spot for New Years

The hotel was clean for the most part. Our comforter did have some stains on it and there was a small hole in the sheet, but otherwise everything was nice. I gave this hotel a low rating because you don't get much bang for your buck. We paid $135 a night for a King size bed. Our room had a refrigerator, but no microwave. There weren't any complimentary bottles of water. You have to pay $3.00 a bottle! There wasn't a hot tub or a pool and there wasn't even a complimentary breakfast. I stayed at a Best Western the night after staying in the Red Lion and that hotel had all of these things and we only had to pay $80 a night. Also if you are driving a vehicle that is over 7' tall, good luck finding parking! The Red Lion was however, in a great location to do some great shopping, dining, and ride the monorail and ferries.

Definitely worth it!

We stayed at the red lion over Xmas. We couldn't have asked for a better location, right downtown and next to pike place market. The hotel had a great pub/restaurant underneath it. Parking was very expensive, $30/night, I was disappointed they did not offer a discounts for hotel guests. The hotel itself was an older building, although it was very clean inside and the staff were excellent, especially the concierge, Lolly. The rooms were very average. Overall it was a good experience, and I would book here again.
