Everything was perfect. Spent a day and a half and just relaxed with my wife.

Davenport is in the heart of downtown and is quite upscale for Spokane standards. The tower rooms are clean, modern and well appointed - although the safari theme throughout the hotel is a bit much.

We had two active children with us, and really appreciated the fact that the pool was open early, which helped work off some of the energy. We are always happy to find a hotel that welcomes children.

It was good everyone was friendly and the room was clean.

Staff was nice. our phone kept ring and the person would hang up as soon as we picked up. We used the shuddle was alittle dirty. As we were waiting i notice one of the staff reaching into the popcorn and taking a handful out and into his mouth that was not very sanatary.

We were there for a high school graduation. The location was just a few blocks from the convention center. We really enjoyed the indoor spa and pool. I was surprised at the cost of the breakfast buffet, $11.95 per person so we had breakfast at Perkins next door. However we were able to get a carafe of coffee and a bowl full of creamers from the breakfast buffet and they were very nice about that. The nicest part about the hotel was the proximity to the park downtown along the river. Truly a treasure.

Peaceful and quiet. Not as near to the convention center as you would think based on the advertisement. Need to cross a highway or go down the riverbank to reach the convention center.

parking was kind of hard to find. I liked the room with arts hanging on the wall. Wireless connection is not good at all.

This hotel is located in the area that you want to be if you are active and like the night scene. Parking is tight on the hotel grounds but that is just how most downtown's are. There are plenty of cheap lots around if you require an easier parking access but parking is free on the hotel grounds. The rooms are a little small but are very well laid out if you are just requiring a place to sleep and shower. The decor is modern with some nice touches. I like the slide-out bedside swivel lamp, it was very strategically located. Unfortunately for me I needed an area in room with a larger workstation because I was on a business/leisure trip and space was cramped. There is space enough to set a laptop upon and work but, I require more space with my line of work. The rooms were very clean the in room fridge and microwave were nice to have available. I did not get to visit the Sapphire Lounge but it looked very modern and trendy and the place to be! My only gripe was that upon check -in the attendant fielded a personal call right in the middle of our check-in and pretty much handed us our keys and we went on our way to figure the hotel out ourselves. The rest of the interaction with the staff was very pleasant, but the whole town is full of very nice people. There is room for improvement but for the location and price you can't beat this place. (It was almost half as much as most other hotels in the area)

I used the breakfast room for a birthday party. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I planned it from 3000 miles away and had never been to this city before. They were awesome in helping me in everything I needed for the party! They were the BEST!

We were able to check in late, had a nice breakfast, staff was friendly, kids loved the pool & hot tub. Fitness center had a treadmill, eliptical. Was just fine, no complaints!

I was fine with this hotel. I was just passing thru & needed a place to crash with my friend. The rooms are small with not a lot of space to move around. I would not recommend this hotel if you plan on staying far a few days, unless you are on a budget. We where able to walk only a few blocks to some great bars. Did not spend much time in the room which is when this place is a great idea. Train is very close but didn't bother me. Under the bed was a little diappointing. Needed a good vacuum.

Very nice staff. The hotel was clean enouogh, but a little worn and tired. On a short stay, it served the purpose, at a very good price, but would not want to stay there long term.

There is a nice outside patio with a view. The rooms were very well kept. The staff was friendly and the breakfast manager was excellent. They met or exceeded all expectations and responded to every need promptly.

Booked a two-night stay for a trip to visit Gonzaga. Room was very nice and roomy,and perfect location for anyone visiting the Gonzaga campus. Front desk gave us spot-on directions for walking to and from campus (no car needed), and then suggested many restaurant options and provided a shuttle to and from downtown for dinner. One slight glitch was that we requested a taxi to the airport for the morning of our departure which didn't get on the schedule (may have been the taxi company's problem), but the Holiday Inn revved up the shuttle bus and the manager drove us to the airport. . . great service and attention to detail!

Only stayed one night but was perfect. Nice big clean rooms.

The Holiday Inn is conveniently located on Sunset Road which is a main thoroughfare into Spokane and also a five minute ride to the airport. The day staff was nice to work with and helpful. The housekeeping staff was very accommodating when asked to clean the room at a specific hour while I was at the airport meeting another family member. I had asked if they had spray starch and housekeeping said no, but then the staff chased me down to give me starch they had found for me--very nice. The only complained that I had was with the restaurant: yes it was Hoop Fest weekend, but we and about half the restaurant waited for over 45 minutes before our salads were delivered. We were so tired of waiting that we asked them to send them to our room. The salads showed up with only one place setting. My caesar salad was warm and had limp lettuce with no croutons. If you are going to have a restaurant on site it needs to be appropriately staffed.

This was perfect for my four-day stay. The hotel is right at the heart of downtown with great access to shops, restaurants and local attractions. The health club is great. The staff were all very nice and knowledgeable.

I thought they would be a little more into their history, but the rooms were fine. What ended up after the question to, "Do you have parking?" was a surprise parking charge on my MasterCard, and it wasn't even valeted!

Enjoyed my stay at this hotel visiting Spokane for the first time. Very friendly and helpful staff. Felt at home.

Was in Spokane on business and to visit my child at Gonzaga. Hotel location is great - right on the Centennial Trail - easy walk to Gonzaga and downtown. Free parking - easy in and out access. Beds very comfortable, free internet, friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely book again.

This is a beautiful old hotel with high ceilings and lot of space. My only complaint has to do with the bathroom. I am 5'2" so short, but not abnormally so. The bathroom mirror was so high I could only see half of my face. The bathtub ledge was so high that I almost fell getting out of the shower.

Clean, comfortable, quiet convenient. A nice bed in a pleasant place. Nothing remarkable except a somewhat old fashioned massive style to some of the furnishings. We were probably in the smallest room--discount rate. But a second armchair would have been nice.

The hotel was very convenient for what we were doing in Spokane. Our room was a little older, but they are in the process of up dating the hotel. I would stay there again.

Used Al's taxi from airport, only $16. You get what you pay for, and for the money this is not a bad hotel. Includes breakfast too.

Only complaint for this lovely hotel is that the complimentary breakfast is no longer available. This was our third stay here and brought the in-laws along this time, it was Christmas magical like last year and loved every minute of it!

Very nice experience. Helpful, friendly staff. Very clean and modern, but certainly not generic. It is actually a little eclectic gem in downtown Spokane. It has elegant charm with the reading areas and library. Close to downtown shopping and perfect if you are a concert goer at the Knitting Factory or Bing Crosby theater (each within a block's distance). Continental breakfast was standard, but nice and very plentiful. Eating area is the pub in the "catacombs" (basement) and was very clean and modern. Parking is by valet, or street parking is available outside the door (both metered and pay-lot parking). A bar on the opposite side of the alley (south side)can get a little noisy at night, but during my stay was not a problem. The train tracks through town are just a few hundred yards south and you do hear the trains. However, there is no hotel in this vicinity where you don't hear the train. The trains are actually going very slow at that locality so while I heard it - it did not cause me problems with sleep or enjoyment (seemed just to be background city noise and I was able to tune it out ok). My bathroom was huge for a hotel and well supplied with amenities. My queen bed was deluxe, comfy and warm. Wifi in the room. Generous TV channel selection. Furniture was clean, robust, nice and in near-new condition. This is not a cheap, run-down hotel at all. For the price it was a great find. I would certainly stay there again without exception. If I had one request it would be that they had free parking, but that is a tall order in the middle of downtown Spokane. Very happy stay.

I was a little hesitant due to the reviews on the hotel but overall for the night I stayed there I had no issues and the beds were not as bad as I was.expecting. The staff was nice and the location was perfect for walking to everything. Would definitely stay there again.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and both times everything was well prepared and we had no bad experiences. The kids had fun at the pool.

The hotel is very close to Whitworht University (as well as Gonzaga and EWU). Great deal and location for visiting your college student. Very friendly staff and a good breakfast.

The room's heating and air unit works intermintently. The TV is very small by today's norm and the color is way off. Orbitz didn't pass along the request for a room with disabled accomadations, so when we checked in there wasn't one available, or so I was told. Getting a room on the first floor seemed all the clerk was able to do. This was EXTREMELY inconvenient and an unnecessary hardship. The bathroom is tiny, and the tub/shower combo unusable for anyone with a handicap. If this was a booking error by Orbitz, I'm not sure I would book another room. This kind of omission is unacceptable. If the mix up is because the clerk couldn't be bothered, then I should get a refund, as I definetly didn't get what I contracted for.

The Comfort Inn North in Spokane was just average the apparance was very nice on the surface but a closer look showed lack of caring when it comes to keeping a clean and tidy establishment also in dire need of everyday maintanece. However the location is handy for business as well as close to the medical areas.

Very helpful and friendly staff that made us feel welcome. Clean room and convenient location. They have a very complete breakfast and free newspaper. Our stay with them was all good.

I stayed here twice during my trip. I requested non smoking rooms on both stays. The first stay I got a smoking room and could not change it. [...] The first room also suffered from very weak water pressure in the shower and a big water bug in the tub on day 2. The second stay was much better. Nice clean non smoking room. Hotel staff was very nice. Breakfast was good. Location is convenient.

This hotel was fine for the minimal stay. Be wary though if you get a room with a king size bed, hard as a rock! My other family members were in room with 2 queen sized beds and they were very comfortable.

Had to be at Spokane WA for a meeting, everyone we talked to was great. The WI FI needs some work done to it.

The lodge was not that bad to start out with, minus the confusing drive to get to the location of the hotel. Once inside, the bathroom light switch was broken as well as the light itself. There was no fan in the bathroom, and the lock on the bathroom door did not work at all either. i stayed in room 275.

A new clerk was in training when I arrived and the trainer seemed distracted. The room was ok. No high def tv bud did have free wireless. The bed was comfortable but the sheets had not been tucked in. The am continental breakfast was adequate.

Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Industrial region of the town. Perfect for a quick overnight stay for the non-tourist.

My husband and I reserved & paid for a room online through Orbitz. I was looking for "pet friendly" hotels & this Comfort Inn came up. NOTHING was said about an extra pet fee. AFTER we checked in the desk clerk informed us we must pay an extra 15.00 (plus tax) fee for our 10 pound Pekengese "Gustave". I told her this was not disclosed when we paid online and we would not have reserved the room had we known there was an extra fee as we were already paying aprox. 85.00 for a sunday night room. This heavily tattoed clerk was very rude and in a snippy manner shoved a form at us and sent us on our way. We assumed we would not be charged as I made it clear we wanted a refund and would stay elsewhere if the undisclosed pet fee was charged. After our trip I checked my credit card online and lo and behold the clerk charged us 16.00 &some change for a "pet fee"! It took a couple of different long distance phone calls but finally the hotel manager graciously removed the unauthorized fee after assuring me the pet fee was standard and they would work to make it more visible on the orbitz website. Other than the rude tatooed clerk the night desk clerk was extremely professional and helpful. (nothing against tatoo's but a hotel clerk should look more professional &classy-perhaps a long sleeve shirt-"dress appropriately for the job"?) The room was average for the cost. The pool and spa was super and the breakfast was nice. As a couple who frequently travel with our pet from now on I will choose hotels that do not charge extra for pets. Most pets are cleaner than alot of people-to be charged extra when customers are already paying good money is ridiculous.

America's Best Value Inn, located off of Sunset Blvd. in Spokane , WA, should be pegged for false advertising. First of all, I rented the room to get away for a little while, and also because of the pool. I didn't particularly need to stay in a hotel, but I did anyway. My planned mini-vacation probably didn't fall on the best weekend though. It was Hoopfest weekend, so I was having trouble finding a room as it was. When I saw ABVI's advertisement and the picture of thier ammennities I wanted to stay there immediately because of the pictures of thier gorgeous outdoor pool. It was perfect, I could bring my kids with me to swim for a bit and have my sister take them to home, or to her house, whenever I was ready to just relax. I got my kids up that morning and told them we were going to go swimming at a motel. They are 3 and 6 so of course they were completely stoked. Before we headed out there we stopped at Fred Meyers and bought new bathing suites, water wings, and some other pool toys, totalling nearly $100.When I got to the front desk to check in the lady behind the desk (who I later found out was the manager) told me that she was having some issues with her internet and could not pull up any of the reservation information. She then asked me if I could leave and come back in like a half an hour. I told her no....and asked if maybe she could just put me in a room, keep my ID and debit card, so the kids and I could swim for a while before my sister came to get them while we were waiting for thier system to work. She asked me if I had a king or queen sized bed reserved. I wasn't sure, so I said so...She then proceeded to tell me that she could put me in a queen room, but if she put me in a king and that is not what I had paid for then she could be in trouble. Okay, so I asked if she put me in a queen and it turns out that I did in fact reserve a king would she be able o refund the difference....she said no...At this point I started to get pretty ticked off, and they only made it worse when they pointed out that thier outdoor pool had no water in it, and probably wouldn't until nearly the end of july. By this point I am furious! I mean I rented a room in the town I live in to relax and it just turned my day into one giant headache. I spent almost a bill buying swim stuff, but was unsure what to do with all of it in an empty pool. At this point I didn't even want to stay there anymore but the manager would not refund my money. Not even after I explained that the only reason I got the room there was because of thier supposed 'outdoor pool' and I spent almost the same amount as the room on swim things. She wouldn't even give me a discount! I personally have only stayed in one place whose facilities were worse than ABVI's in Spokane, the Red Top Motel on Trent, which is where all of the druggies, etc, hang out....so I wasn't impressed. After over an hour of arguing with the staff about getting something it return for how bad they ruined my day they finally gave a little slack....I got the manager to agree to allowing me to stay there once the pool is filled at a 25% discount (or at least that is what she agreed to). I had to fill out some paperwork to get the single use discount card, but once I finished it she didn't give me the card either. She told me to come back later, so I did....only for her to tell me to come talk to her about it when I checked out, whatever...but when I went tot the front desk to check out she was not even there! The guy at the desk made me fill out the paperwork again, but then only gave me a 15% discount for my next stay as opposed to the 25% promised by management. I was not a very happy camper there....and I may not even go back there when I can take the kids swimming despite the fact that I have a discount for my next stay...BIG THUMBS DOWN!!!

It was what we expected for the price. Older, shabby, motor hotel that has seen better days. The beds were good.

Overall my stay was great. Spokane/Spokane Valley are very easy to get around in. The rooms were big and the beds were comfortable. I took advantage of the pool/spa and the minimal but adequate fitness room. The one complaint I might have is the staff, the hotel claims that their staff are trained tour guides, but when we asked them where a great place to go for dinner was (we were clearly dressed up) they suggested Applebee's... hmm... and when we said we weren't interested in chain restaurants, they just handed us a card of a martini bar that neither one of them had been too.. I don't really consider that great information on where to go in Spokane, thankfully we picked up the paper and tried a restaurant that had a big write up on it, "The Clinkerdagger" and it was wonderful! The staff was not overly warm and friendly but they were never rude.

Best bang for your buck in Spokane! It was close to many great shopping centers. Rooms and comp breakfast was great.
