The brand new hotel in a perfect position: only 150 meters away from the main central Venice railway station ( Santa Lucia). Rooms are very bright and lie on the 4 floors (no lift), but just opened three new rooms on the ground floor (only 5 stairsteps) for people who have some problems in moving upstairs (this three rooms have bathroom ensuite). Breakfast - included.
They are all very well equipped and guest can choose between rooms with bathroom ensuite (with hair dryer), and rooms with sharing bathroom on the floor (cheaper). Anyhow, every room has satellite tv, color tv, air conditioning / heating, telephone (with the possibility to call outside), alarm service, selfcare stuffs, balcony with flowers on request (view on a typical venecian calle).
The hotel offers a wireless lan system which is a value added service starting from june 2005. The breakfast room has been opened on 12th may, and it is also a wonderful living room with a small bar which works all day long. The hotel offers amenities such as bar, non-smoking rooms, reception, safe deposit box and tour desk.

The origins of the palazzo that hosts the Hotel Scandinavia go back deep in time. The building dates from the year 1000 and it is said that this is the very place where Desdemona met Othello, the "Moor of Venice." The palazzo was renovated in the 16th century by the Trevisan family, a wealthy merchant dynasty, that lived in it for generations.
In the Fifties, the Tinacci family transformed the palazzo into the Hotel Scandinavia, managing to preserve the atmosphere of an ancient Venetian residence handed down through the centuries. The is one of the Venetian Hotels that most reflects the spirit of an aristocratic Venetian residence.
The Hotel windows provide a stupendous view: to the building's left is the Church of Santa Maria Formosa, whose name is linked to an ancient legend. It is said that this "Campo" was the site of the apparition of a rather prosperous-looking Madonna and, to celebrate this miracle, a church was built in 1492 that was given the name of Santa Maria Formosa (the Buxom).

The NH Manin is located in an old palace owned by the Barocci family, built in 1890 for the Pellegrino Orefice, which was historically the San't Angelo theatre, one of the seven lyrical theatres of Venice. 4 stars hotel, completely restored and converted into a hotel, with an incredibly unique position,in the main zone of the city and on the banks of the Gran Canal and 10 minutes on foot from St. Mark's Square and the Rialto bridge. The hotel has a beautiful garden where breakfast is served during the summer months. The rooms all have their own Venetian style, marble bathrooms and Venetian ceramic floors. The hotel, with a private dock is located close by to all the most important monuments of the city. The hotel includes an American Bar serving cold dishes during the summer months.
