Welcome to the holiday destination of the rich and famous!

Bang in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea Sardinia is the favourite hotspot of the privileged who want to enjoy seaside holidays, water sports and a dash of history. Holidays in genuine Sardinia are filled with sightings of flamingos, seals and wild horses as well as activities such as day and night fishing, visits to ancient ruins, mountain climbing and some chilling out by the sea.

Ruins of Tharros

Ruins of Tharros

A blast from the past
At some point or other, every Mediterranean power, including the Romans, Spaniards and Phoenicians, has ruled the beautiful island of Sardinia and left behind its own mark on the island: the ruins of Tharros, an ancient Phoenician city, the Nuraghic fortress, located 60 km north of Cagliari and the Goddess of Fortune Temple located in Porto Torres are just some of the splendid structures that have their own story to tell. Also, visit the roman ruins and enigmatic grottoes such as Grotto Nuova on the east coast near Cala Gonone. And, whilst you are still travelling in the past, drop by the archaeological museum in Cagliari.

We recommend the Regina Margherita Hotel located in the heart of Cagliari as a genuine Sardinia hotel if sight-seeing is what interests you the most; and check out our offers for car hire in Sardinia for the best deals.

Fun on the Mediterranean
Sardinia has some of the most beautiful Mediterranean beaches. Spend a day just soaking up the sun on Porto Ferro’s pink-sand beach or book yourself on one of the many aquatic activities available such as  sailing, water skiing or reef diving, .

A lot of people swear that Bidderosa is the most beautiful beach in the whole world. Therefore, take the 4km trek through the island to discover what makes this beach so special. Remember that the island is part of a nature reserve, so you’ll need to buy tickets to access the five coves that form this beach.
If adventure and sports is what you are looking for in Sardinia book into either the Geovillage Hotel Sport & Wellness Resort or the Colonna Hotel Du Golf.

Time for some food and shopping
If you are visiting Sardinia in the autumn, don’t forget to pick up a jar of freshly collected bitter honey. And, if budget is not too much of an issue, the most exquisite lace, carpets wood and carvings are waiting for you.

Sardinia is also popular for its exotic local cuisine. Try some ‘uova di muggine’ (fish eggs grated over pasta) or the traditional ‘porcheddu’ (roasted piglet).

Tip: The best time to visit Sardinia is in the spring and early autumn. Avoid a trip here in July and August when it’s unbearably hot and humid and in winter when the entire island hibernates.
