Prague

Breathtaking Gothic architecture

Prague is full of imposing buildings, whether it’s the 9th-century Prague Castle that sits above the city on a hilltop, St Vitus’ Cathedral within the castle complex, or the historic city walls themselves.

Take a stroll and you’ll stumble over buildings like the Tyn Church at the Old Town Square, an important work of Bohemian Gothic architecture with two ornate towers that reach 80m into the sky. It’s hard not to be moved by the sense of history that seeps out of the very fabric of Prague.

Where to rest your head in Prague

After climbing all these old Gothic buildings to get a better look at this most beautiful of cities, you’ll want a good hotel to relax in. The Sheraton Hotel in Prague’s Charles Square gives all the mod cons plus great access to the Old Town – the best of the new and the old worlds. Enjoy a drink on the rooftop terrace looking out to Prague Castle.

If you don’t want the historical adventure to end when you get back to your hotel, check in to the Hotel Caesar Palace. The building is an old Art Nouveau one, close to all of Prague’s oldest sights, but the inside’s been totally renovated so you can have modern comfort with traditional atmosphere.
