Wonderful villa where we found the real Crete - and one amazing pool!
We were a party of 10 ranging in ages from 4 up to 60-something and we all loved our time spent in Villa Mulberry. The villa was extremely spacious both inside and out set in amongst the olive groves that cover this part of Crete. Inside, the villa was clean with towels provided. The kitchen was well equipped and included a dishwasher. There was also a washing machine. Each bedroom was air-conditioned. Three bedrooms had their own en-suites and the final two rooms shared a bathroom. There was also air-conditioning in the main downstairs area. Outside, the pool was huge! It was regularly maintained while we were there. It did feel a little chilly early in the day, but the kids didn't seem to mind at all. The villa is within walking distance of a lovely town where there was lots of different places to eat. We honestly did not have a bad meal out in the whole two weeks we were there. The town also has amenities such as supermarkets, chemists, petrol stations. We hired cars for our second week, something we haven't done before but would really recommend for getting out and seeing the real Crete. Every village has at least one taverna where we were always welcomed despite our Greek going no further than 'Hello' and 'thank you'! We had some breathtaking drives along mountain roads out to the coast stopping off at different villages on our way home. The villa has ample parking for several cars. I don't think we drove more than an hour to get anywhere whether it was a quiet beach, lively town, water park, aquarium or historical site. Nasos the owner was only ever a message away and was there to welcome us when we arrived. A cleaner was available too if wanted, again we just messaged Nasos and he arranged this for us. My only negative is that a welcome pack of some water, milk and bread would have been perfect after arriving in the dark after a day of travel. A wonderful, very memorable holiday had in a wonderful villa right in the middle of real Crete - thank you Nasos!
