I enjoyed my stay here - great location, large room, great bathroom and a fabulous breakfast buffet. I loved the balcony overlooking the marina - perfect for the afternoon and evening sun. The hotel is huge, so it can seem a bit impersonal, and the corridors are noisy, so there is noise from people passing by the bedrooms. Check-in was a bit slow but perfectly courteous and we got there in the end! I would stay here again.

Fantastic, modern hotel in a great location. Rooms very comfortable with great view of the marina. Would definitely recommend this hotel and based on my experience here would use the Melia brand elsewhere in future.

Just spent a nice long weekend in Alicante. The Melia Alicante is in a great location, perfect for the beach, the mariner and the old town. A couple of things to fault them on though... the air con is was not working. When we phoned up reception to report this we were told that the AC hadn’t been turned on yet this year. All they could do was bring a fan to our room. This was pretty poor-it was so hot, which made it really difficult to sleep. The breakfast was ok and there was plenty of choice however, the hot food was usually cold unless you waited in a long queue for the fresh eggs. The main reason we booked the Melia was because it had a pool but this wasn’t heated, and in the shade in the afternoons when we would’ve wanted to use it, so it was too cold to get into. Would I stay there again..? Probably yes but I wouldn’t bother with breakfast.

A supposed 4* Hotel. We arrived at the hotel and it’s was very hot. The hotel looked plush and comfortable but the air conditioning was not working in our room and dispose openong the window it was stifling and uncomfortable. When we contacted reception they at first said they would fix it but after a while of no one attending we went down to reception. We were then told that the “air conditioning in all rooms is not switched on until the summer”. Unbelievable!! A hotel withholding advertised facilities to save them money. We decided that we would rather not pay the expensive rates to be in a very hot and uncomfortable room and moved to a different hotel nearby. We are still to receive our refund from ebookers- not happy.

Easy get away

Had a New Years break and stayed at melia alicante. Brilliant hotel and facilities, close to airport, transfers every 20min. Right next to the beach, city centre in couple mins walk. Highly recommend for a peaceful and easy getaway!
