Location:The hotel is in a very peaceful setting between Ambleside and Skelwith Bridge. There are walks directly from the hotel and further afield.
The hotel is very comfortable with large and elegantly furnished public rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were of outstanding quality. Furthermore, the hotel has a beautiful view of some the Lake District mountains. The weather was so good that we were able to savour these views from the comfort of the hotel's terrace garden. The setting was very peaceful too.
We stayed in one of the lowest cost rooms (Rydal) and found it to be comfortable with a spacious modern bathroom. Each day there were complimentary slices of fresh home-made cake in our room.
Wi-Fi was reliably available in our bedroom and the public rooms.
