Young couples first trip to Amsterdam.

The hotel is right in the heart of Amsterdam. In a busy square with lots of bars and clubs. These did not disturb us on the nights we didn't want to go out! Couldn't really fault the hotel or the staff. The only thing I would mention is the room wasn't as clean as it could be. Although I'm sure if it was bad enough for us to complain, something would have been done to amend this!

GREAT TRIP

We had an excellent city break in Amsterdam staying at the Hampshire Hotel. Very quiet room despite all that was going on around us in this centrally located hotel. Room clean and bed and pillows very comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful, with the conceirge even lending us an umbrella one evening!Would definately recommend it.

Quite beaten up

For over 200 euro a night this is an over-priced 4 star hotel - there are holes in the duvet cover! Also the hotel appears to be very old and out of maintainance, room service is overpriced, and worst the interenet is SUPER slow - around 150kb/s actual speed so I ended up using my 3G phone for faster connection.

Weekend in Amsterdam

We had a great long weekend at this hotel. It is next to Rembrandtplein where there are some great restaurants and it is buzzing with life. We particularly liked L'Opera. The hotel has a nice bar and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee in the rooms. Free wifi was useful. Breakfast was not included in price and was a bit expensive but everything else was great. Staff, especially the concierge were very helpful.

Fantastic all round.

We loved our stay. The staff were friendly and courteous. The room itself was perfect, very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was lovely and bright and modern. The location is great and very close to the shops and canals, everything is within walking distance. We would definitely stay here in the future.

Weekend Break

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the vibrant Rembrandt square but still quiet enough at night to sleep. The hotel staff and services were also top class and very helpful. The room itself however was not great, we were in room 250 (a corner room, almost squeezed in a small space between two other rooms). As you opened the door the bed was a foot or so away from you, we asked for a double bed room and had two single beds (and single sheets/covers!) pushed together - if you sat anywhere near the middle of the beds you fell down a gap!! I can safely say I didn't have one good night sleep during my stay. I hope that it was a one off and I'm sure the other rooms with double beds and rooms of a normal size would have made the stay fantastic however the room itself somewhat spoilt what was a fantastic trip.

Expensive but good location

Very noisy room!! Disrupted sleep every night! Shouldn't be so when you've paid their charges for a 4 night " break" Didn't really see any staff to comment - cocktails good but overpriced, as was restaurant. Perfect location which they obviously are cashing in on, close to most things.
