This hotel is OK. The heating in the room was not working properly, so the temperature was a little cold. The Receptionist did provide us with a small heater. The pillows were the worst pillows I've ever experienced - very thick, incredibly lumpy and uncomfortable. The bed is not too bad but not great. The location is great, close to lots of restaurants and cafes. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful and caring. The bathroom was excellent. The room was a bit dirty on the curtain and the walls, just scuff marks and finger prints. Room was off the road as I asked for but the walls are very thin! Room was quite dark. Mattress was very soft. I think the owner could spend some money on the place and it would look much cleaner and brighter.

This hotel is OK. It's basic. Hand wash and shower gel is available in the bathroom. The sink plug hole in our bathroom was broken, we reported it and unfortunately it was not fixed. The location is great, there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants close by. Easy to get to and from the airport (397 bus).

Close to central Amsterdam.

This was my first trip to Amsterdam, I went with a friend. We could not of been looked after any better, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and quiet, it is also very central to everything. We would definitely stay at the Iron horse again.

Friendly & mainly efficient service

Pros: Friendly helpful staff, a good standard of cleanliness and facilities with the exception of the unacceptable level of noise from the air conditionng
Cons: see above
Location: excellent location with good access to the important places of interest
The only major problem was the lack of an appropriate response to my complaint about the noisy air conditioning unit in Room 209 which was dealt with by simply switching off the air conditioning. Hardly an appropriate response since the room has no access to outside windows to allow an alternative to using the air conditioning! The result was 4 nights of sleep disturbed by a continuous drone of the air conditioning system.

Is what it is!

The staff are excellent absolutely no complaints they were fantastic and helpful. The room however was small, and not very well ventilated, the ensuite was what was expected and the shower was fantastic! Free tea and coffee which saved us a lot of money but the corridors/stairs can be quite noisy with doors slamming

Great weekend stay in Amsterdam

It's a first doing a review for anything. But because I found the advice on here helpful in my choosing accommodation, I thought I'd return the favour. The hotel is value for money, if I had paid more than I did (around 100 euros for 2 nights) I would have had reason to complain. The room was clean sauf for the very dirty towels that were left in my bathroom. It was comfortable, nice shower room, good room temperature, friendly and helpful staff. If you don't like a wall for a view, request not to be put in room 202. Bond with your horse and Enjoy Amsterdam!
