Gorgeous hotel in great location

This hotel was perfect for a short city break. They have everything you could want and if they dont have it they will get it for you just call reception. Comfy bed!! Great blackout curtains Amazing shower Only negative: room wasnt ready at 3pm which is check in time. We were left in the bar until I went back to front desk at 4pm to find out the room was ready but no one had come to get us.

Excellent hotel. Great location

Loved this hotel and will definitely visit again. Superb service and high quality rooms. Location was central but also slightly off the beaten track, so could escape the throngs when looking for sleep!

Highly Recommended

Cons: Temperature of water for bath/shower - was not hot enough
The Kimpton de Witt is perfectly located for sightseeing in Amsterdam and surrounding areas – 15 minutes by train from Schiphol, a five minute walk from Centraal Station, easy access to sights either by train, tram or walking. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished in neutral tones throughout. The reception and ground floor spaces are welcoming, warm and calm. Varied and semi-partitioned areas offer plenty of easy seating including a light-filled outdoor atrium. By contrast the bar is darkly cosy with panelling and embossed walls. Great use of lighting here makes this almost American-style bar extremely inviting. We stayed at the hotel from 6-8 October in Deluxe Kings. The neutral theme continues in these bedrooms and the designer has cleverly blended the contemporary canvass of the room with some delightful older style pieces. Overall a fresh and modern hotel with all amenities. We loved it and would recommend highly. There appeared to be a lot of staff on duty this weekend. On arrival and throughout our visit, they were courteous, helpful, friendly and professional – a credit to the hotel.

Needs a better visual sign amongst other things

We were picked up by the hotel shuttle from the airport. The driver drove past our hotel because he didn't see the sign. He Pointed it out to us a little way back down the road and dropped us off to walk back to the hotel. I am surprised that the mini bar and snacks in the room were not free, (not cheap either) when we stayed in a 5 Star hotel in Paris the mini bar was free ? Yes we was made welcome when we turned up but nobody informed us that there was a business area or where the bar and restaurant was. I'm only saying this because when we were waiting to leave at the end of our trip, guests turning up were informed where these things were. The room was ok but a little bland, I was expecting better. Hallways were dark and dull Would I stay here again ? Probably not Each to their own I guess

Nice hotel but wouldn't stay here again

Nice hotel in a central location, close to Central Station & walking distance to great attractions and coffee shops however we booked a king executive room and there was nothing executive about it at all. The bed was big but extremely hard asked for a mattress topper to be put on but they just put on a duvet under the bottom sheet. The hotel is very business like not in the slightest bit cosy and the breakfast is awful and didn't even bother going down after the first morning.
