Great location, tired decor

Clean hotel in great location for museums. Staff very helpful and polite. Room decor quite tired and sink enamel chipped away exposing rusty metal: not like that on website photos! Booked through ebookers and assumed breakfast included in the fairly high price. This wasn't the case but actually preferred sampling the local eateries. In short overpriced for what you get.

quiet hotel in Amsterdam

We paid for a superior room. It was huge. Nice quiet hotel, but at the moment there is building work in the canal across the road. Tram journey from station is easy.

Birthday weekend.

Great hotel. We had a room with a view on the 7th floor...........wall to ceiling windows...........not for those afraid of heights. Ideal for visiting the museums. Staff on reception were very helpful . tram stop 2 mins walk. Didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on it. Quiet area, but cafes/restaurants within walking distance. Amsterdam is beautiful.

long weekend in Amsterdam

The hotel is located in a great area so long as you don't want to be in the heart of the red light district or next to a coffee shop. The room was huge and comfortable though I was a little disappointed that we had to pay to print 2 pages from the Internet. Not expensive, just annoying.

Lovely hotel, quiet spot

This hotel is within great distance from the airport and easy walking from the museum square. It is also perfect for getting into town on the tram (use 16 or 24) which are along every few minutes. Tip: buy 24hr travel tickets from the tram driver (€7.50). The journey into town only takes 10mins on the tram. You could hire a bike from the hotel but check the forecast!! The hotel itself is very clean and is worthy of the 4star rating. The rooms are huge and again very clean. The beauty of this hotel is its quiet surroundings. So nice to have good sleep. The shoe polishing machine outside each lift are good too, esp after lots of walking in the rain! There are some nice restaurants across the canal although you are better eating just off Dam square, some excellent argentinian steak houses.
