Friendly welcome and helpful. Very comfortable and clean room, dining room and food excellent. Background music too imposing,Gaelic dirges not helpful and bagpipe music more for outdoors. Otherwise excellent stay, thanks to all.

Peace and quiet

A hotel with peaceful surroundings ideal for relaxing with a good book and for our visit no kids around. The out of the way location is a bonus. Alternatively if dry plenty of walks in the extensive grounds.

Scottish castle hotel

Pros: We liked the dining room and the food was lovely. We loved the surrounding gardens.
Cons: Our room was a bit bland and dull, overlooking the car park. We know some of the rooms have been modernised and look out over the water but not ours.
Location: The location is very good, quiet. Tarbert is close by and Campbeltown around 30miles away. We drove there and it was a beautiful winters day. Fab
We arrived at three. Room was ready, first impressions were that the hotel was quite dated, not so much the period features, just the corridors leading to the bedrooms looked like they could do with some new paint and carpets. The dining room looks out to the water and the views are spectacular and ever changing. Our door handle was a bit suspect and took some getting used to before we worked out how to lock it, basically we had to bang it shut, room twelve.

Business Stopover

Location: Location fantastic on the Loch side with stunning views
Excellent Value in every respect. Very freindly and efficient staff.Very clean and comfortable room. Great seafood.

work stay

I thought it was great, comfortable, and cosy. Menu a bit pricey, nice breakfast. Loved the snooker table and if you get clear skies great for star gazers. But and a Big But... poor telephone signal and wifi.

Pros: Das effiziente Personal
Cons: Farbliches Update der Zimmer und neue Matratzen.
Klassische Schlossanlage mit morbidem Charme. Dunkle Farben dominieren das ohnehin düstere Haus. Einrichtung - vor allen Dingen die Betten - sind erneuerungsbedürftig. Anbauten versprühen Flair der Sechziger und benötigen dringend ein Upgrade und Update. Tolle Landschaft, die hervorragende Küche im Restaurant, ein hilfsbereites Personal und der Preis relativieren jedoch teilweise die baulichen Defizite.
