Don’t bother!

Terrible service, room freezing, housekeeping couldn’ cope. Spend your money elsewhere..

Great Staff, but

The staff were great, very polite and very helpful. We stayed in the Academy which is in desperate need of refurbishment. It was warm but noisy plumbing. The room was very basic and bath grubby but the pool was good fun for the kids and everything was handy even though it was a wee walk. Thankfully we were out most of the time and had a great holiday so it didn't spoil our trip. Would still recommend because of location and facilities but with the warning of not to expect too much from the rooms

Centre parks in the highlands

Aviemore the village, is as most guidebooks tell you, a bit of an urban sprawl in the highlands. However as a base to explore the area it is very good place to be particularly with kids and the hotel is excellent. We were upgraded to the Highlands hotel and the breakfast was good, service excellent and the facilities on offer superb. Make sure you do the walk on the nature reserve at the back of the hotel as it has a wealth of wildlife. With a pool, cinema and great play park kids will be more than entertained.

Nice location, hotel badly needs a revamp

The location of the hotel is excellent- only a two minute walk from Aviemore high street. The room was basic and the reception area and corridors of the hotel badly need done up. However, the room was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, not a huge range of choice but what was there was of decent quality. If I was going back to Aviemore I think I would look for somewhere to stay as I didn't think it was great value for money.

the rooms shown wasn't what we got, really disappointed desperately in need of a refurbishment, a bit whiffy, sink had a crack the length of it and bath needed a good bleach!!!he room wasn't even made up for us, put in a complaint and still waiting for a reply. kids got upset when the flume wasn't open in the swimming why is it only open until 5 it's the summer holidays, think they need to have the flume open much later!!! The Italian restaurant was good value for money and really tasty, staff were brill. Breakfast was great :-) My son loved the play park, we even had a go on the see-saw. Value for money not great we went to turkey all inclusive for £160 a day,at the macdonald academy we were only there from 4 till check out at 10 for £130 for the room prices here are awful.

We had a good room, very quiet but also very close to the train station and the bus stop. The room had a safe which was good to let the personal value belongings.
