Spacious apartment, walkable area
Check-in is off-site, about a 10-minute walk from the apartment. The area is definitely walkable, with Fountain Square, the Old City, and the Caspian Sea all within 5-20 minutes. There are also lots of restaurants nearby, some of which are open after midnight. The apartment is on a street that is extremely busy during the day (taxis and traffic). If you're out sightseeing, it won't make a difference. In the evenings, the street is pretty quiet. The building is old but has character. There is no elevator. The fully furnished apartment is on the second floor, is very spacious, and includes a living room, a full kitchen, 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a terrace overlooking the street. On the first night of our stay, we discovered some plumbing problems - i.e., the master bathroom toilet did not flush and the main bathroom's plumbing emitted a very loud noise throughout the day and night followed by water draining onto the floor. After a few complaints to Hotels.com and to the apartment manager, the problems were resolved within 24 hours. To his credit, the manager also offered to move us to a different apartment. Thankfully, once these problems were resolved, everything else was just fine. Lastly, if you're planning to take a taxi or the airport express bus, be sure to notify management. Although we didn't request airport transfers, they automatically scheduled it for us (additional fee of 25 AZN manat each way). Overall, the staff was nice and we had a good stay in Baku.
