Check-in was slow with people jumping cues. Booking was for a double room but was given a twin. Told the staff, they said push the beds together. Bathroom is very dated and mould around tiles makes me question cleanliness. Great power shower - as long as your under 5'! Reception managed to lose my key twice from the drop box. Finally I was close to missing my flight after they forgot my wake-up call without even an apology. Embarrassment would be a more fitting name!

I chose the overpriced Privilege room and it is exactly the same as the much less expensive normal room. And this premier room did not even have an iron, leave alone a trouser press. The carpets are stained. the furniture, or what is left of it. is just junk. The bed is small. In fact, this hotel would have been ok at about £10 a night and not at £65 a night for a room without breakfast. Do not waste your money, I stayed in the top room in the new Tower wing, which is supposedly better than the old wing. HA. What a joke. I have seen better motel rooms 25 years ago, in a road trip in the US. This one can't even compete with one of those.

It was near city

Bathroom are really in bad condition. Wash basin was broken with mark on it. Hot water tap was Jam couldn’t open , cold water tap was dripping all time couldn’t stop. Bath panels tiles were broken . Furniture in bedroom was a bit tired. Staff was so so they didn’t seem professionals to me.

Value accommodation and squash court

The main reason that i stay at the Ambassador regularly is that it has a squash court. Court, equipment, playing partner (sports staff) are very cheap to hire. Location and gym / swimming pool are pretty good, I feel, for the price range. I really like the room. Bed comfy. Perfect for my needs. Not all the rooms are in such good condition as the one i got this time. For me, the only thing that lets down the room is the slightly gaudy red striped carpet. A neutral colour without a pattern really would set off the room nicely. Check-in is often slow. I wish they would improve the front desk system. They need more staff there. I checked in at 13.50 after a 20 minute wait in a queue. The room wasn't ready, so it meant another wait later on in a queue to get the keycard. Other guests get impatient and try to jump ahead. I would even prefer a ticketing system. It really creates an initial bad impression that seems avoidable.

'Privilege' Room with no privileges

Staff led me to believe that I was entitled to a free breakfast in the Bloom restaurant (which acted as the 'privilege lounge'). So I sat and ate a few choices from a very limited buffet of truly awful quality. Just as I was about to leave having endured more than enough, and wishing I hadn't bothered with what I thought was a freebie offering, the waitress approached and presented me with a bill for 350 baht, with no apology for leading me to believe the meal was complimentary. I kept reasonably calm, made a complaint at reception and then just signed the bill to avoid a prolonged argument. The hotel just need to provide a letter in the room outlining the benefits of a privilege room. It would be a very short document indeed, but it would save any miscommunication. I like the hotel because of the squash courts, pool and fitness facilities. And the rooms in the tower are perfectly adequate for my needs. So I will stay again but just keep to the superior or deluxe rooms. Regarding the room itself on this occasion, the air conditioning wasn't cooling the room, and was only marginally better after the engineer came to fix, and there was no great view.

Worst hotel I've stayed in all my life

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Absolutely everything,,and that's no exaggeration,,,ebookers and Expedia should not promote this hotel on there website
Location: Sky train was near,,and so was soi nana,,,,but get on the sky train and leave this horrible hotel a.s.a.p...a lot better hotels to be had in soi nana
This hotel was terrible from start to finish,,,the check in was miserable,,,the luggage up to room took forever,,the room was depressing and gloomy,,the safe was broken and 3 hrs I had to Waite in room for someone to come to repair it,,and when they arrived it took them 30 secondsto repair,so my 1st night was ruined,,,then the madness at breakfast was unreal,,,was rush hour in new deli rather than breakfast in bangkok(but I must say I did not have deli belly ,,and the food was about so/so,,,not hellish bad...the swimming pool was very Dangerouse,,,an accident is waiting to happen,,and I can't understand the thing going on with all the birds in the cages up the steps by the pool,,didn't seem rite to me,,then outside the hotel the amount of massage parlours and prostitues was unreal,,I've been travelling Thailand many years and I know what to expect,,but this was unbelievable,,,,never been so glad to check out of a hotel in my life ,,and the checkout was also slow and miserable,,,the general manager hotel of this hotel should be ashamed,,,if there is one,,,,bad,bad,bad..hotel ruined my time in Bangkok,,,stay well clear..

Huge Hotel

Pros: Huge Hotel
Location: Good Location
1) Very poor Services , if you need anything and need help/ask to the reception , believe me , u can even call them 100 times , the telephone was just ringing and no body pick it up . 2) Unfortunately we forgot our key room in the room ( human error ) Its took them one and half hour to come and open it up for us . 3) Safe - our safe was out of service - Called them but still didn't work

Not do good

The hotel needs up dating it smells damp and dusty, in its day it must have been a very good hotel but now it's not keeping up with its competitors in the Nana area. I would not stay there again nor would I recamend it to anyone.

AVERAGE!

As with most things in life, 'you get what you pay for'. The rate I paid was cheap so I wad not expecting 5 star service. Check in/Check out is not very efficient. The rooms could do with a re-vamp. Same goes for the bed sheets, towels etc (although they were clean). Internet was ok although sometimes needed to re-connect. Pool was excellent.

This stay wasn't as good as the previous one

Las night before flight back home. I got a super noisy room without any noise insulation, with two separate singles instead of a king size, the shower would be hot or cold nothing in between, staff my mate in another adjacent room complaining of midges coming through plumbing pipes... Internet so slow that you can say it was effectively not working. As long as previous stay was nice, this was a disaster.
