Thin paper walls

We could hear everything next door, I mean everything! We were unlucky with our ‘neighbours’, in fairness to the Lebua, however for hotel standards, we should not feel like the person in the other side screeming is in your room... Also we arrived on the 14th of February and couldn’t go to the Dome bar as they were charging £200+ pounds per person to attend. We were allowed at the other bar called Distil, where the drinks were extremely expensive (£25 per cocktail).... also the prices on the menu do not include VAT and service charge.... a bit of a stab in the back if I am being honest. Swimming pool and gym did not meet the expectations at all, very basic and if you planning a sunbathing session, think again, to avoid disappointements. Staff were pleasant and the hotel is OK overall... if you get a good deal fine, but certainly not worth full rate, like I did!

Nice hotel in a good location in Bangkok

Pros: Location, size and club access
Cons: Rooms could do with some more furniture to try and make it more unique.
Location: Go for a foot massage.
Nice hotel, large rooms and amazing views. Pool and facilities a bit of a let down. Good to get club access for afternoon tea and drinks included. Sky bar is expensive £19 for a gin and tonic! The rooms are large but sometimes feel quite empty. Staff very pleasant.

Very niceHotel for last day of our Thailand visit

We wanted to chill on our last day before heading to Sydney We paid extra to have to lounge access which also meant a later checkout time of 3pm.... Staff were very friendly and helped you every step of the way The facilities were excellent and the view from the sky bar was wonderful at night although the drinks prices were on the high side My only negative comments about this hotel are that the pillows are plump and clean but are very hard and high so it made for a less comfortable sleep ... a choice of pillows would have been nice enabling us to choose our preferred comfort.. The other comment would be that we had checkout paid for to 3 pm and requested a possible extension to stay an additional 2 hours as our next flight was at 8pm The hotel we're happy to accommodate at half the day rate !!! Needless to say we checked out at 3 and then had to kill 2 hours in the heat Oh and you aren't allowed to take pictures from the top of the staircase for different reasons - safety of falling down the stairs !! And privacy of diners !! However you could take photos from the bar area .... this all seemed a little ott and not crediblw reasons as you could get the diners in from he bar pics and you could stand back from the stairs to take the photo .... Over all it was a very enjoyable stay but one night was enough

Less and more than expected

First off my main negative is the false advertising with the happy couple standing on the balcony in the photos. This was my main reason for booking only to find that you can't step foot on it. I saw nothing while booking to indicate guests aren't actually allowed on balconies so didn't get the sweeping panoramic views I was expecting. They also expect a 4000 baht security deposit which came as a shock to me as I didn't spot this in the small print and it ate into our spending money a little. Another thing to make life easier if you're a tourist is that you need to bring your passport and departure card if you're staying at these hotels. Again I didn't see anything about this in the small print so it was a pretty stressful check in for us. Anyway, sensing our confusion the pleasant reception staff seemed to upgrade us to a large apartment type suite with two queen beds instead of one king. The suite was immaculate with kitchen and reception area. Plenty of square feet for what we paid. Another tip is not to ignore the books scattered throughout the room that better depict what you can expect to find at the hotel than any websites. We found our way to the sky bar quite late on a weeknight and got a seat straight away. The drinks are expensive with service charge but think of it as an entrance fee. Would just suggest in future that this hotel update their small print and be more transparent with their balcony policy and check in requirements.

three days en route to NZ

The hotel was superb and we were greeted with very polite and attentive people and an upgrade to a two-bed suite with double aspect and four(!) balconies. Totally recommended.

Amazing honeymoon start

We stayed at the Lebua at the start of our honeymoon in September and found the whole experience amazing. The staff cannot do enough for you, so helpful and make you feel welcome from start to finish. We had booked a superior room but we very kindly upgraded to a suite to celebrate our wedding which was unbelievable. The room was amazing and probably bigger than my house!! all food at the hotel was amazing and its true what everyone says about the breakfast, it cant be beaten. The hotel is a little bit far away from the main tourist sites or nightlife but it is very easy to get a taxi to and from the hotel so don't let that put you off. We had drinks in the Sky Bar which were reasonably priced compared to UK prices so we didn't mind having a couple of drinks and we had dinner in the Breeze restaurant which again couldn't be faulted. it was an amazing start to Thailand for us and we would love to go back and stay at the Lebua. I recommended this hotel to my friend for her honeymoon also and she has now booked to stay and cancelled her other choice as we raved about it so much. You wont be disappointed!!

Very busy hotel

Stayed for 2 nights at end of our holiday. Booked this hotel on recommendation from friends. Easy check in. Efficient and polite staff, easy check out. Excellent breakfast and great pool, you don't think you are in the City. Good location near Sky Train. Fabulous views from top floor, but beware drinks very expensive. Pool service not up to standard. I ordered a coconut drink, took a while to come and then no-one came all afternoon to remove empty utensils. I was left with nursing dirty left overs. Main criticism hotel very busy and you have to wait ages for lifts. Beware: too many people, its a big glitzy place, over priced and not for everyone.

Disappointing stay at Lebua at State Tower

Stay at the Lebua at State Tower was very disappointing. Room was very clean and spacious but not 5 star standard. Pool area on roof was very nice. But as the Sky bar is a tourist attraction further to the Hangover film, there is a constant queue at the lift to this bar and the drinks are way overpriced (40 euro for 2 gin and tonics) and then we were told we could not sit anywhere up there as we did not have dinner. Very impersonal feel from the hotel and staff and felt constantly ushered around by the staff. There were strict rules as to where you could bring your drink and where you could sit down. Restaurants extremely over priced. Meal for two in the Breeze restaurant cost 250 euro for 1 starter, 2 mains (standard thai dishes) and 1 bottle of wine. The cafe Mozu ('cheaper alternative') cost 150 euro for 2 mains (one which was a pizza) and 2 drinks. Concierge very unhelpful and could not provide information on shopping or local bars. Not in good location.
