Impressive reception area and entrance and all went down hill after that. Outdated room, stuck somewhere in the early 90's. Friendly staff, but uncooperative. Listed as 4*but very far from that. I have stayed in better 3* hotels! Spa staff unwilling to allow you to see pool and spa area unless you buy a deal. Breakfast good but expensive in comparison to other hotels or local cafe's. Kept having to ask for tea and milk because room had not been serviced by the time we came back from sightseeing, so no clean towels etc. As the hotel was booked through a 3rd party and not directly with the hotel, they said they are unwilling to make any changes or recompense any money or services which they fell short of.

Budget friendly.

Hotel ideal location for Nou camp walk out turn left and there it is ! City centre 10 min away on Metro which was 5 min walk away, bus stops also available nearby, we used T10 transport card bought at sants railway station all the time we were there to get about with no issues. Hotel was clean bed comfortable only complaint would be no english tv channels and noise from what i assume was either water or heating at night ,staff friendly and helpful, it is a bit dated but as a base to explore the city it was more than adequate. We didnt eat at the Hotel so cant comment,we used the spa once but as with majority of Hotel needs to be brought into the 21st Century only open between 10-12 for residents. For anyone on a budget we would recommend and we would stay again.

Clean, comfortable hotel

Our trip to Barcelona was amazing, what a wonderful city to visit and explore. The Senator Barcelona hotel was very clean through out. The roof top pool was lovely with comfy sun loungers. The bar at the pool was not open so to get a drink you needed to go down 8 floors! The wifi was very disappointing! It did not work at all, so I had to turn on the 3G on my phone through out our stay. The spa is kept clean and has a few different pools plus sauna and steam room, you can use this for free between 10-12. Take your own towels or you will need to hire them. The rooms themselves are quite dark and we were put in a room that looked into someone else's hotel window with no daylight. The TV has 1 English speaking Chanel of bbc news. 1 other Chanel would have been nice! The maids did enter our room on a daily basis and wake us up. This was quite frustrating! There is daily room service but T-bags are never replaced, I had to ask for some from the bar every day. I had requested for a bottle of cava on arrival via email to the hotel a week before as it was my husbands birthday but I didn't ever recieve this. We were also told that late checkout was possible but on the day we were told this wasn't possible, which was frustrating for us as out flight wasn't until 10 that evening. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on that but the drinks prices were ok for hotel prices. The hotel is set in a residential area of Barcelona but the city is accessible by bus (d20) from outside the hotel and takes about 40 minutes to get to the marina. Or the metro stop (collblanc) was a 10 minute walk from hotel and could take you all over Barcelona.(To the main city centre it takes about 20/25 mins) I purchased our travel cards before arrival which allowed us to use bus's trains and metro for the duration of our stay.(Hola Barcelona travel cards). Outside of the hotel is a few cafe's and bars and if you walk further down near the metro stop there are more shops and bars to choose from. You will also find a McDonalds! The best thing is that the hotel is a 3 minute walk from Nou camp so this made my husband very happy. The tour is a must, especially as the hotel is so close by. Even I enjoyed it. Overall our trip was great, we loved Barcelona city, the marina and the beach it was just a few minor things about the hotel that let it down a bit for us. However I would still recommend this hotel.

city break

good hotel, good price.good location 4 the metro or bus.really good sized rooms. on the downside spa breakfast and drinks a bit pricey. saying that I would stay there again.

Barcelona experience

The staff were not friendly did not explain things properly to us, we paid for breakfast while booking but the lady told us there is no breakfast on reservation and didn't explain any further. It was not the best hotel experience at all

Wonderful for One

I stayed for a night on my own. The room was small but clean. There were no English channels on the TV. The Spa was open and was really great to relax in but book early to avoid disappointment when you want to get treatments. Close the the football ground and the hop on and off city tour stop. Not much to do in the evenings here.

Average Stay

The hotel is in a nice area close to the metro and football ground (Nou Camp). I was however let down by the closure of the spa and gym during my stay and was not informed about this. The staff are not really friendly and the hotel looks average with average rooms. The rooms are however very clean. Overall a 3/5 experience.
