Staff very polite, cheerful and helpful.
Room ok but location not great , had bad nights sleep as on ground floor and every time corridor door opened it really felt / sounded like someone coming in.
At check out we were waiting in lobby and firstly heard conversation re poss smoking on second floor in a room that was occupied by my son , he does not smoke so I knew it was not him but I was embarrassed that his room number mentioned then he came down and checked out , that made me feel uncomfortable as I felt everyone there had heard and was judging.
Also whilst in lobby a person came in who was obviously an employee and proceeded to have a conversation with his supervisor about coming back to work , not being able to work Sundays etc... I just felt that conversation should have been held on private.
The reason I was there was due to a function which seemed to be handled well.
For me re the Sunday lunch, I did not eat much as I didn’t enjoy it at all , am vegi and felt options very limited - eg I don’t like goats cheese and the cold soup was really not good . I didn’t bother with breakfast as I heard from others it wasn’t great eg not really quorn sausages , so didn’t want to waste money.
Sorry to sound so critical but this is third time I have stayed here and on this occasion was very disappointed.
