Beautiful hotel in a great area of Bath. However, we had a few issues that made us unhappy. We checked in on time and were provided with one of the accessible rooms behind reception. We didn't need an accessible room but it was fine. The pullout mirror in the bathroom was FILTHY. I mean, really dirty. Covered in fingerprints and blobs of SOMETHING! We cleaned this ourselves and went on to clean other surfaces in the room as we had no faith in the cleaning if they'd missed something so obvious. The curtains in the bedroom hovered in front of the window and let it a lot of light so we had a pretty poor nights sleep. There was no way of blocking out the light. Then at 7am, there was loud noise and I'm not sure if it was coming from inside the hotel or just outside the property but it sounded like trolleys being wheeled through the hotel. This was incredibly loud and went on for 30 minute or so. I'm sorry, this is a hotel. You're providing a room to sleep in. If you're not allowing your guests to sleep, you're doing something fundamentally wrong!

Great location. The main attractions are walking distance. The bus tour bus stop is few minutes walk away. Friendly staff. However room wasn’t clean. Hairs and rubbish/dirt on bathroom floor and bedroom. Asked twice for room to be cleaned. Second time the lovely Luke at reception came to to clean as housekeeping didn’t start until 7pm. We felt guilty asking him to clean so said it can wait until 7 when we’re out for dinner. We let reception know that we were out. Came back, housekeeping at given us a night time service but floors still the same

A lovely place to stay

My husband and I enjoyed a one night stay at this hotel on 27th January 2018. We had a lovely welcome from the staff and they couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. The room was spotlessly clean, with unique decor. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel to our friends and family.

Great hotel perfectly positioned for sights

Pros: Staff were excellent, well decorated and very clean, brilliant position to explore Bath
Cons: Quieter ventilation system/aircon for rooms on the 3rd floor
Location: Great location, Abbey, Roman Baths, shops, restaurants and majority of the attractions within minutes walk
We stayed in Room 303, a small ensuite double on the third floor which was well decorated, clean and with comfortable bed. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise from what I think was the aircon system on the roof, even though we switched the aircon off in the room the noise continued 24hrs. Being woken up and kept awake by this, we spoke to the staff the next morning, who immediately suggested an upgrade. Within 10 minutes we were in a new, much larger ensuite room on the second floor, very comfortable super king bed and most important, quiet! Besides the problem with the first room we really enjoyed our stay in the hotel, staff were excellent, and facilities great, with lounge, bar and restaurant. The hotel is perfectly positioned to explore Bath city, everything is 5-10 minutes walk away. The hotel does have it's own parking for £15 a night, but it was full when we arrived, so I parked in Charlotte Street Car Park around the corner for £8.50 a day.

Cons: Better bed / mattress.
Great staff, very friendly. Nice room, though bed was a bit uncomfortable as the mattress sagged.

Stayed for one night; room was clean and comfortable, staff were very friendly. Would recommend to a friend 10/10, didn't get a chance to try their restaurant or tea room though! Hotel has an elegant old fashioned decor and is perfect for a stay in Bath

Nice hotel, discounted with the welcome

All in all a nice hotel only disappointment was how I was treated at check in. It felt as though because I had not booked direct my custom was not as valued. When I tried to present my loyalty card I was told it could not be accepted for bookings through Expedia.
