Great location. The main attractions are walking distance. The bus tour bus stop is few minutes walk away. Friendly staff. However room wasn’t clean. Hairs and rubbish/dirt on bathroom floor and bedroom. Asked twice for room to be cleaned. Second time the lovely Luke at reception came to to clean as housekeeping didn’t start until 7pm. We felt guilty asking him to clean so said it can wait until 7 when we’re out for dinner. We let reception know that we were out. Came back, housekeeping at given us a night time service but floors still the same

A lovely place to stay

My husband and I enjoyed a one night stay at this hotel on 27th January 2018. We had a lovely welcome from the staff and they couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. The room was spotlessly clean, with unique decor. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel to our friends and family.

Great hotel perfectly positioned for sights

Pros: Staff were excellent, well decorated and very clean, brilliant position to explore Bath
Cons: Quieter ventilation system/aircon for rooms on the 3rd floor
Location: Great location, Abbey, Roman Baths, shops, restaurants and majority of the attractions within minutes walk
We stayed in Room 303, a small ensuite double on the third floor which was well decorated, clean and with comfortable bed. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise from what I think was the aircon system on the roof, even though we switched the aircon off in the room the noise continued 24hrs. Being woken up and kept awake by this, we spoke to the staff the next morning, who immediately suggested an upgrade. Within 10 minutes we were in a new, much larger ensuite room on the second floor, very comfortable super king bed and most important, quiet! Besides the problem with the first room we really enjoyed our stay in the hotel, staff were excellent, and facilities great, with lounge, bar and restaurant. The hotel is perfectly positioned to explore Bath city, everything is 5-10 minutes walk away. The hotel does have it's own parking for £15 a night, but it was full when we arrived, so I parked in Charlotte Street Car Park around the corner for £8.50 a day.

Cons: Better bed / mattress.
Great staff, very friendly. Nice room, though bed was a bit uncomfortable as the mattress sagged.

Stayed for one night; room was clean and comfortable, staff were very friendly. Would recommend to a friend 10/10, didn't get a chance to try their restaurant or tea room though! Hotel has an elegant old fashioned decor and is perfect for a stay in Bath

Nice hotel, discounted with the welcome

All in all a nice hotel only disappointment was how I was treated at check in. It felt as though because I had not booked direct my custom was not as valued. When I tried to present my loyalty card I was told it could not be accepted for bookings through Expedia.

Boutique Hotel. Don't eat there...

Pros: Location
The hotel has limited parking. Difficult access to the car park for large cars and confusing entry as you have to drive in over a road sign marked in the floor turning out. Dinner in Brasserie balance. Had a terrible experience. We were ignored by waiting staff, kept waiting an hour for food which turned up luke warm. Order was also incorrect. Overall service and food was so bad that the restaurant manager did not charge us anything. Was not the point really as it was a special occasion and our night was ruined. When we checked out and were asked how our stay was we mentioned this and the member if staff informed us that the restaurant was nothing to do with them. It was leased out to another company and subcontracted just to provide breakfast to hotel guests! Laundry in the room was also dirty. One towel had either bood or rust on it. Again we mentioned this on check out and was told we could complain to the duty manager if we wished but would have to wait as they were unavailable.

Lovely hotel

This hotel costs more than I would normally spend on a night away, but I booked as a birthday treat for my partner. Beautiful hotel and rooms, brilliant location, very central. Couple of little things that stopped me giving a full 5 stars, room wasn't ready when we checked in, went back out, came back again and still not ready. We did get taken to the bar for a drink though and the receptionist was very helpful . Then on check out there were drinks on our room from the night service that we hadn't ordered..sorted it out though. Overall, a lovely comfortable hotel.

Few days away

The hotel has a great central location. Most places to see are within walking distance. Good choice of restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Only draw back is parking is expensive at £15 a day. Really enjoyable stay.
