Christmas shopping in Bath

Having been to a number of B&B establishments in the past this one would be top of my list to recommend to anyone. Great hosts where nothing was to much bother. Clean well presented character rooms, great breakfast and a good all round knowledge of Bath including good recommendations for the places to eat. if we are in the area again we know where to book

Superb Hotel B&B

Pros: Liked everything ! Perfect hosts, lovely decor and room. Secure parking,
Cons: We stayed in the Lansdowne room and nothing obvious to improve.
Location: Great location with lots to do including Roman Baths, the Georgian House museum, Jane Austen museum and Bath Cathedral. Great shops, pubs/ restaurant
We had a two night stay in this lovely Hotel for our first visit to Bath and we were not disappointed. Lovely bright rooms, sympathetically refurbished and yummy scrummy breakfast. Glynn and Diane made us feel very welcome and were perfect hosts. The Hotel has some lovely original features mixed with contemporary creature comforts. We love to walk and walked into Bath both mornings approx 20-30 mins, we went in via Victoria Park and also along the river Avon which was very pleasant. However for those that prefer the bus it is only a short bus ride into Bath centre with bus stops but a few steps from the Hotel. There is free parking in the security of the Hotel rear. Hawkins is a little gem away from the city bustle lovely comfy bed and quiet night sleep but close enough to enjoy all the city delights and sights. Thank you Glynn and Diane for a perfect break. Shall miss the lovely fresh fruit salad at brekkie.

Recommended guest house

Pros: The warm welcome also the large rooms especially the bath room. and the delicious breakfast
Cons: Nothing
Location: We used the number 39 bus to get to and from Bath city centre far easier to leave the car parked at the guest house
We were met when we arrived by Diane, she showed us around and explained all the facilities and breakfast times. We were then taken to our room, it was quite large and well furnished the bathroom was of a high quality, with walk in shower and free standing bath. The king size bed was very comfortable we both had a very good nights sleep. We went for breakfast at 9.45 served in the conservatory. there was a choice of cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt before a freshly cooked full English breakfast prepared I think by Glyn, who came out to chat with us after we had eaten. The Hawkins guest house in Bath is in our opinion the best we have stayed in.
