We stayed on a Saturday for a night out with friends just down the road so ideally situated. Although we arrived early without prior notification we were able to check in straight away with very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is on a fairly busy road so some traffic noise is inevitable, but not enough to disturb at night. Breakfast was good - cooked fresh with a good selection of options (the egg and bacon sandwich was a whole meal in itself!)

The worst nights stay ever

Pros: nothing
Cons: total refurb and staff that actually care
We arrived about 9.30pm to the B & B our booking was for Friday and a Saturday night, the room we had was directly above the Bar and boy did we know it the noise from downstairs people laughing and talking and music went on till 2am even after we complained to them at 12.30. The bed was the lumpiest bed i have ever slept in (well didn't sleep at all), you could feel every spring and the pillows were dreadful to .Woke in the morning to have a shower, the sign next to the shower states it is very important that you put the rubber mat down and ensure it is stuck firmly to the bottom of the shower tray, i could not find a rubber mat anywhere (Health and Safety) and i actually slipt when i stepped into the shower tray, only god knows how i saved myself from falling. I then turn the water on and there is no hot water at all i left it running for 10 minutes to see if it would heat up but no nothing . The only reason we stayed up on the Friday was so that we could have a shower and get ready for our day out at the races, so i had to do the best i could with my hair (not a happy bunny). We packed our bags went downstairs and told the lady who was serving breakfast about all the problems we had encountered and that we would not be staying for the Saturday night. We went 3 miles down the road and checked into a Premier Inn. The cleanliness of the hotel isn't good either ,mattress was stained same as pillows an the general surroundings are also very shabby.
