+ reasonably quiet room well equipped (no tea kettle, though!) + hotel guests have free access to the gym and sauna opposite + if you make your own bed, drinks from the mini bar are offered - breakfast wasn’t included, and the €19 per breakfast came as a shock - the hotel, though greatly located, lacks atmosphere

I had a fantastic stay in this hotel. Very close to both the S and U Bahn. Room was spotless and very comfortable although I may have been put off by the partially open bathroom if I had been sharing with a friend! Staff were very friendly.

Terrific location

Pros: Staff spoke English and check-in was quick. There were lots of pillows on the comfy bed (6). Good selection of maps and attraction leaflets available
Cons: I chose a 'quiet' room (215) facing the courtyard but I could hear the beat of the music from the lounge below up till 9.30pm.
Location: Berlin Zoo with their Giant Pandas is very close and well worth a visit. I went at 4pm when the entry line was quieter and still had plenty of time.
The hotel is in the middle of the shopping district with lots of restaurants and big departments stores nearby. It's also only a ten minute walk from the Zoo bus station which is where the Tegel airport buses arrive and depart from so the location is excellent. The room was spacious clean and comfortable. There is no kettle or tea and coffee making facilities in the room. They operate a system where if you put a card on your door to say your room doesn't need cleaning then they give you everything in the mini-bar for free which was 2 beers 2 cokes, 2 bottles of water, orange juice, apple juice, a kitkat and some pringles. That seemed a really good deal for someone on a short stay. The TV has channels mostly in German but I did find one in French, one in Spanish and one in Russian also. Staff in the lobby were helpful with directions. Early morning check-out can be a bit slow because there was only one member of staff on when I left, most of the time there are at least two. The Hard Rock Cafe is almost opposite and the road down the side of that has a Netto supermarket in. Take the 100 bus from zoo station all the way to Alexanderplatz. It passes almost all the attractions without paying for the tour bus.

Nice hiotel, perfect location to discover Berlin

Pros: We liked the familiar atmospher
Close to the Christmas market directly at the Ku´damm. It was very nice to walk along the Ku´damm , see the many Shops and the great Christmas Illumination.
