Excellent location!

Unfortunately wasn't the quietest location, with music playing late at night. But the rooms were clean and comfortable and close to the station that had great connections.

Central location with good price and good room. Luggage storage costing 2 euros per piece is unnecessary.

Nice view out over berlin

The hotel itself was nice enough, the reason I wouldn't tell a friend to stay was because of the heat in the room. We had it on the lowest setting but it still felt like a sauna! We had the window permanently open but even still, being on the enclosed toilet 4 any more than 2 minutes was unbearable. Was also frustrating needing to get my key card out every time I got in the lift to swipe the card first before entering the floor I needed

Not great for me

Pros: pros - central location if you want the tourist end of town, clean and tidy, landmark tall it's easy to find your way back to it
Cons: Everything relating to my experience above
Location: Meeting and hanging out with my daughter was the best thing.
More cons than pros for me: cons - the little light from the smoke detector kept me awake on all 3 nights. It's a small light flashing frequently and although its small, in the darkness seems like lightening or a camera flash - flashing frequently enough to properly disrupt my sleep. Pillows were squidgy and useless. Double bed but single quilt - what's that about? Breakfast not included and way out of my budget to add on top. Extortionate price for rubbish internet - they make you pay £10 for 24 hours and each page takes ages to load up.

"Small executive" small yes executive no

Pros: Location
Cons: Not let anyone stay in rooms like 601 without putting blackout blinds and directing the kitchen extractor fans away from the room.
Location: Loads of restaurants, good for rail infreatructure.
Room 601....avoid...floodlights outside window means night is brighter than day and the smell from the kitchens permeates your consciousness and clothing from 6am onwards. Even when I checked out the staff member smiled as if he knew I had the bad room. In reality, all hotels must have such a room, worse than the rest but I cannot review it well as this was my experience.

Great location/room, best for being mostly outside

The central location of the hotel is perfect for being able to see the wider city. Alexanderplatz itself isn't the most interesting place, but the tube, bus, train and tram connections make it incredibly easy to get around the city. I never really had to spend more than 20 mins in public transport to get back from anywhere. The room in the hotel was also great value and very comfortable. I upgraded to the superior for a very small charge and had a fantastic view to boot. The big drawback is that the hotel has no free wifi (it's there, but at €0.5/m it's extortionate) and the room had terrible phone reception. We had to leave to do any real activity planning which was frustrating. The other extras were kind of expensive too - €2 per bag for left luggage per day, €19.90 per person per day for breakfast (not needed, plenty of good nearby and much cheaper places to discover, and that price would have made it the 2nd most expensive meal I had on the trip!) Ultimately I would reccomend this place, particularly as a first time in the city like mine, but be aware of those potential extra costs and challenges. Next time for the right price I'd be tempted to find somewhere in a new-to-me part of the city that has at least wifi or reception though.

Check in took 45 minutes

Arrived in the afternoon to check into our room and there was a giant queue, all with people who were also very annoyed about the long wait. None of us were informed as to why there was such a long queue or wait to check in/out and reception staff seemed very unhappy. Very dissapointing as it cut into our time in Berlin over the weekend. Apart from this our room was great and the restaurant Spagos was delicious with an exceptionally lovely waiter: thank you. + amazing location.
