MANOR NOT MANNERS

Pros: Location
Cons: Front of house attitude; all staff should be encouraged to read the hotel information book guaranteeing 'A warm welcome'.
Location: NEC Exhibition site is a short drive away so the hotel is well located for off site accommodation.
On arrival the receptionist was quite unwelcoming; and sharp in attitude. I requested an alternative room to the 'Accessible' room I was allocated, (as I am well over 6'0'' tall, and accessible rooms have low basins etc); I was rudely told no other rooms were available. When checking location details only an hour before en-route the site was showing rooms still available. She remained unmovable even after admitting 'we only have 10 other rooms free'; and we were shown to the 'accessible' room. The room had obviously not been serviced properly as the bedding had not been changed, and there were medication tablets scattered around the floor. I returned to the reception and again the rude receptionist didn't fully acknowledge my complaint, instead she looked past me and commanded a colleague to check my claims. He was apologetic and came to the room confirming our concerns and that we would be allocated an alternative room. he returned moments later and moved us into an adjacent room which was better suited to our needs. I returned the original key cards to the receptionist and magically she became apologetic and more accommodating. The only dining option was the Marco Pierre White steak bar. Ultimately an overpriced gastronomic 'brand' experience; average quality food and massively overpriced backed up with small portions. You are paying for the name not what goes on the plate! Waiting staff were good however. Overall the whole experience was tainted from the start.

Very average for the money

Pros: Nothing stands out, quite average
Cons: bar staff slow, decor dated
Location: stayed for a wedding. If they paid 20k for that id not be too please with facilities. Food was nice though
facilities poor, bar staff slow to serve. Drinks weren't as expensive as I thought

Great Hotel

Pros: The bed was very comfortable and plenty of pillow choice
Cons: Nothing, everything was good
Location: Around 20 miles away from Strafford Upon Avon, NEC just up the road and around 15 miles to Birmingham city centre
Stayed at this hotel over the bank holiday for 2 nights in a superior double. The grounds are lovely with plenty of parking and the room was very spaceous. Maintenace was going on, with sections boarded off but this was not an issue. The ladies on reception were fantastic very welcoming. The room had tea, coffee, galaxy hot chocolate, biscuits and bottled water. Toilettries supplied were shampoo, shower gel, soap and body lotion as well as bathrobes and slippers :) Overall a great 2 night stay

Birthday Treat for my Husband

Pros: Reception Staff and the Dining Room Manager. Very Helpful. pleasant to talk to.
Cons: Make sure that you are told about the cost of Breakfast if you don't book. hide4 you Face Flannel or they may walk as did mine.
Location: Coventry Transport Museum. An Excellent place to visit, it can take you hours to enjoy the nostalgia.Herbert Museum, excellent.
We arrived at 3.00[pm on the 12th February. our rooms was very good, two chairs to sit on for a change. The bathroom was good and clean everywhere. We ate in the bar on the and I did not like to food, in fact the chicken wasn't cooked through. A Tip book, order Breakfast before 11.pm our it will cost £12.95 instead of £10. We only ate Breakfast in the Hotel so can't comment on the Dinner \menu. Overall, the reception Staff did the Hotel justice, excellent Manager of the Reception. Would we go again ,yes we would.

Very dated, old & tired

Pros: Struggling to think of anything, reception staff were nice on arrival
Cons: The whole feel about the place, easy money i'm sure with NEC around the corner but the whole place needs to be carried into this century.
Location: Nec and heart of England located close by
I unfortunately checked in when 3 bus loads of elderly customers checked in, whilst I was seen straight away I had to battle my way through all of these customers, getting knocked and bumped continually, I understand the hotel needs to make money and is a business but at what cost! I was then overcharged for my room by nearly double, I have yet to check whether I have had a refund but the invoice I was given on departure was still showing the amount I had been charged. We were then allocated a room on the second floor ( no lift) no offer of help with my luggage, the room was virtually the last room in the hotel ( if you are not fit or will be going back and forth to your room insist you get a room closest to reception). When we got to the room it was so out dated, I would say from at least the eighties, it was still in good condition but very old & tired ( but I suppose if your happy filling your hotel with Saga away days then it suit a purpose). The room was obviously a twin room that they had pushed the beds together this is ok if the room is designed for that sort of multi use but this wasn't, it has a massive headboard across the back of the wall but in the middle of that head board was the telephone connector which we had to cover with a cushion so we didn't catch ours on it all night. Before we left I brought a drink from the bar from someone who had missed the day they did customer service, very grumpy & not interested.

went to horse of the year show

Totally disgusted due to not being given downstairs bedrooms I am semi disabled with numerous illnesses when asked for downstairs bedroom we were told by both receptionists we couldn't have one. They also said we weren't booked for breakfast which we were.Trouble was there were weddings and a party on Saturday night staff not able to handle everything. Finally if you had the following illnesses would you want put away in the furthers away wing.I have a Benign Tumour of the Brain Bronchial Asthma Kidney problems minus a toe and numourus other.I certainly will not recommend this hotel. Also they need to check the taxi firm they use as everyone charged a different price

Besuch der Crufts

Tolles Hotel mit besonderem Charme. Sehr freundliche Angestellte. Dusche könnte besser sein - man musste den Wassertropfen hinterher jagen... Ansonsten alles perfekt, gerne kommen wir wieder!
