no windows

Pros: The design is nice but walls not thick enough
Location: Great location
Me and my partner stayed here for one night and was surprised that there wasn't a window in the room and also it smelt very sweaty . It was quite dusty above the bed and the walls are very thin. We were woken up several times by our neighbours and when we complained about it we were told that they must not had a remote for there t.v in there room to turn down the volume. After complaining several times about the noise we were told we could receive a full refund. At check out we were then told we wouldn't receive full refund but a 30% refund and given a card would the managers details for a apartment next time we visit but this isn't something I would wish to pay for after being misled on the original agreement .

Dear Ebookers, Thank you for your review of BLOC Hotel on Expedia. I'm pleased you loved the design on the hotel and found the location ideal being just minutes walk from the city centre. Although I do apologise for the condition of your room which is unacceptable for our Hotel Standards and the service you received that you feel you was miss-led. I would appreciate if you could contact myself with more information so I can investigate this and hopefully come to a resolution together. Thank you again for your feedback and for choosing to stay with BLOC Hotel. Kind Regards, Kirsty Guest Experience Manager

Lovely room, too much noise

Pros: Beautifully presented.
Cons: Soundproofing, soundproofing, soundproofing.
Location: Well positioned in the Jewellery Quarter.
Got woken at 3am by people in neighbouring room returning. They proceeded to have showers, banging the glass door several times of the bathroom, but the noisiest part was the water pump and the sound of water draining away, which I presume was coming up though my shower drain. In my small enclosed bedroom it was almost like they were in there with me. Once they were freshened up there was then half an hour of further noises that I'm sure they'd have preferred were more private, during which two women from the room opposite arrived back, loud and merry, and acting like they were the only two people in the building. Even in their room I could hear much of their conversation. The hotel can't control the behaviour of there guests, and once in your room that's your business anyway, but if so much effort is going to be put into the look of these slickly designed rooms, why not also pay a bit of attention to the soundproofing?

Everything you need

Nice hotel second time I've stayed here however I did find a couple of suspicious curly hairs on the bedding.

Went to the Jam House in St Paul's square.

Excellent accommodation. Modern stylish and contemporary. Very clean. On street parking a availability at weekends. Comfy bed, lovely shower and ideal for a night or weekend stay in Birmingham city centre. Ideally located for a night out at the Jam House.

A new type of stayover

Well decorated and good standard of room. Might be a bit tight for 2 people for more than a night's stay Would recommend

Great hotel for short stay

A great stay, very comfy bed and great location. Stayed in a room with window and would definitely recommend as I couldn't imagine no window in a room

Good night stay

A cosy nice clean room. Stayed 1 night just me and my husband. Modern shower. Could do with tea and coffee facilities in the room but apart from that it was perfect for us

Different concept, good hotel

Having read good reviews, I booked this hotel for one night and stayed with my daughter. Good location, very clean, helpful reception staff and free street parking over night if you can find a space. Only niggle is that room is quite dark without window, and all mirrors are brown tinted. I love to wear makeups so it was quite difficult to apply eyshadow ect. But the most important factor to choose hotel for me is cleanliness so I would stay again.
